Limbus Company

Limbus Company

Don Quixote - Fixer Obsession Paralells.
We know that blonde lunatic Don Quixote has a Fixer obsession, to the point where she collects Fixer themed merchandise and is excited when she meets them (there's a section in Chapter 6, Act 3 where I was surprised that she and Ryoshu didn't get on their knees and repeatedly bow in reverence chanting "We're not worthy!") her story in Chapter 7 might explain more about that, as if she was in our world, she'd probably become an otaku, wouldn't she?

I wouldn't be surprised if she was given mind-altering substances, it'd temporarily make her sane.

I suspect when she first met Vergilius, she was excitable at first, but thankfully for him, this calmed down.

Justice obsession more like.

That as well, although she's under the delusion that Fixers are bringers of justice as opposed to being soldiers of fortune of varying kinds.

Don was the first non-science sinner recruited, and all her ID's lands her in high positions. So she is clearly competent and efficient when she wants to.

Her facade also dropped a few times like in chapter 2 when the mexicans shut her down.

Basically she's pretending. Pretty much at all time.
The only times she drops the act and even speaks normally and with a more serious voice is when she's either really angry at something, or threatened by the likes of Vergilius.
The whole "For Justice! Manager Esquire!" act is basically just a way for her to shield herself from others.

So she sees it as better to have a fake imperfection than to admit to having a real one?

At this point in the story I would argue that it's a certainty. If I were to guess, I would say that she suffered an extremely traumatic event in her life during her younger years, causing her to gravitate toward the fake persona as a way of coping and fighting her inner demons.

Contrast this with someone like Ryōshū, who is arguably the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy sinner on the team, but carries the most confidence and remains cool-headed, even during the most stressful encounters in the story.

It wouldn't be a far stretch to assume that Ryōshū has also suffered an emotional or psychological event that lead her to her current state, but the two characters are polar opposites. One had to rely on a fantasy version of herself to survive, built on ideals that, deep down in her heart, she knows are absent in the City. The other has come to terms with who she is and doesn't give a flying **** about the City, only the fulfilment of her contractual obligation with Limbus Company, which I'm assuming will lead her to finding her "perfect art." At least that's my take on these two. I could be horribly wrong, lol.

Edit: I forgot that bat-poo-poo is considered a naughty word and ended up being censored. What a world we live in.

Someone made an OC patterned on Wednesday Addams, describing her as what would happen if Yi Sang and Ryoshu had a child.

So Don Quixote is likely to speak normally when pushed too far?

She already has.
In Canto 2 one of the mariachi after seeing her dance calls it "dishonest and crippled by false pretenses" which she somehow takes as a general description of her act as a whole.
And then proceeds to immediately slip up, for a whole sentence she just talks normally and drops all theatrics.

Safe to assume Don, Ryo and Meursault are the ones that with most experienced with the general ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of the entire city. Only one that's still quite questionable is Outis outside of knowing that she's a veteran.

Outis would certainly know what Gregor went through as based on her ZAYIN E.G.O. image, She was in the Smoke War as well.

As for Don Quixote, clearly if she has to have a past, it might as well be multiple choice.

Don needs the D, Manager Esquire. Girl has too much energy due to lack of sexual release. She also seems to not have finished with her puberty period yet, so her libido sublimates into her "energeticness" over her hobbies.

OH SNAP, for a whole sentence? You must be some kind of prodigious psychologist to pick on that. Can you tell me at what university you have gotten your medicine doctorate?
But seriously, Donny-girl is earnest, but even earnest people have moments of seriousness, which in no way means that their usual genkiness is some kind of facade. I genuinely believe that her love for fixers and justice are real.

I didn't say that, that was Ryo.

There's a theory running around that she's a bloodfiend (or half bloodfiend).

https://www.reddit.com/r/limbuscompany/comments/1c3pdwp/theory_don_might_be_a_bloodfiend_and_slight_canto/

A bit far fetched but honestly it would be pretty cool if she was one. Would be cool to get a Nosferatu ID at some point too.
