Is Ishmael Blind Obsession actually a drawback?

I look at the passive here, and I'm confused. Why would I want to inflict Sinking on an ally? Unless I'm duo'ing with Sunshower Heathcliff, it sounds like it'd cause longer term problems in exchange for a single turn of power.
Maybe it's going to have some sort of synergy with her S3 000 ID?

Same with Don Telepole, just don't get hit and you're fine.
This is not a major drawback too unlike Telepole, only 5 sinking for 1 id and they will deal 30% more dmg, 5 sinking is nothing that just 5 sanity damage ids.

I like Blind Obsession, its damage buff are great for Team damage and is the second best AoE Ego. you can spam it since it will refund 25 Sanity on itself and 3 other Ally, so can work like Fluic Sac.

Charge is kinda nice to for R Ish, as it means she can follow up with her S3 next turn if you don't want to use telepole. Ryo Blind obsesion have charge tho but that Ego...is Mid..

Alright, fair enough. It certainly rolls decently high (would roll higher if I could afford that WAW Uptie IV). But "Don't Get Hit" tends to be a bit trickier in fights where I actually have enough sin to afford this.

If you don't want to deal with that, what you need to do is use the Corosion version before you are about to Team Nuke, as the damage buff will last for 2 turns, but if we ever get Ish ids with haste, then you can use the Awakening version on the same turn that your team is about their nuke.

Or you can do both, Corosion version last turn, Awakening version this turn, but you gonna need another Ego to heal her sanity for this (Fluic Sac or heath MFE)

Ryoshu and Ish's blind obssesion both multiplys charge gain with hit target counts, really great for fast starting up their charge IDs
