When will they release a real game?
I can't take 10 years of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ live service slop. When will the next game be announced?

No reason.

What sensible company would kill a millions a month project for game dev cycles that MAYBE make millions every couple of years?

The issue isn't the live service side of Limbus, for better and worse Limbus is a gacha game made by people who don't know how to make a gacha game.
That means they aren't overly greedy with predatory practises, allowing you to craft almost everything in the game, which is fantastic.
The bad is they don't have several game modes and activities to keep you in the game when you're not grinding MD or finishing the story content. There is a content drought.

What PM needs to do is get a side team to work on additional permanent game modes and non-canon events. 8+ months of no real content is going to wear down the most fanatical PM fan.
None.

No, really. They've gotten a taste of blood (AKA: money). Why make normal games when they can endlessly throw up gacha garbage? Are regular 20-40$ games even 1% as profitable as Limbus?

They might have wanted to use Limbus' profits to create other games, but the corrupt guy(s) in charge have changed their mind, and want infinite money instead, now. Which will inevitably lead to PM's downfall and shutdown as they run out of meaningful content to add, drive the """micro"""transactions too high, and have no other (new) games to placate people with or to salvage their reputation with.

You're looking at the last """"""game"""""" PM will ever make.

(I wish I was downright trolling/doomposting, but honestly, think about it from PM's perspective, ignoring the loss of your IQ in pretending to think like PM for a second: What do you want? Infinite money? Or great reputation? Money? Yeah, I thought so.)
It's better. No. Stuff. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Even if next game comes out it will be another anime writing with hype bait scene that you forget in a week with status quo story untill "play next gacha".
It is over my guy, it was good while it lasted.

People with literally 100's of hours in this game are coming out to bemoan its entire existence and cry about a perceived drop in quality with absolutely no intentions to stop playing or even play it less.

Project Moon has clearly hit the big leagues with Limbus Company if it can invoke such a reaction. I hope you're all having fun with your 99 count and stacks of Sinking.

People already beat the good Project Moon games.
Of course people would prefer if they made a third good game instead of Limbus, but that just doesn't exist.
Like when your local grocery store runs out of Pepsi, people don't stop drinking altogether, they make-do with water.

Limbus Company is your typical stingy and greedy gacha, it's only as popular as it is because of the previous two games.
Props to Project Moon for making two really good games to get attention for themselves, before making a watered-down cashgrab like this. It was a very effective marketing decision.

People still play gachas like FGO, D_CIDE TRAUMEREI, and Guardian Tales. And those gachas still bring in money.
Compared to those, this gacha is a very generous and well designed game.

There's no denying that Gachas are always predatory. Gambling addictions are very easy to prey upon with easy access games like these. But you're never required to pull for anything. will it be more difficult? Absolutely. But that can be more rewarding for some people. Hell, the community encourages not pulling during any time other than Walpurg because it's simply not worth it.

Limbus is just one of the ones where it's a matter of time before you have everything you want. and even though it's still predatory by nature, the devs have at least made a little bit of an effort to not screw over their fans. And they clearly have put some level of care into the game. Otherwise they'd just do any old self insert power fantasy story instead of thinking of something more high brow.

Besides, if it funds that ARPG they talk about in this Q&A, I'd give Kim Ji-Hoon all the cash he needs.

You'd be surprised how many people are hate playing Limbus Company, it is not healthy.
Gacha does well: "You love gacha and don't need another game"
Gacha fails: "You hate us and everything we do. You don't get another game"
That is just the way it works when gacha gets involved.

I will never forgive PM for canning Lob Corp 2 and instead putting resources into a stingy gacha. :steamfacepalm:

Limbus is basically slowly being developed into LobCorp 2, based on the way the story is going. Besides, what would they even do for a LobCorp 2? Another management sim? A remake that isn't quite as jank? We can't exactly just bring the characters back after two entire games of story development

(Though god I want to see Roland and Angela again in Limbus. I miss my wife and husband, Tails. I miss them a lot.)

That being said I do wish that Limbus wasn't a gacha game, because the live service model is definitely more of a detriment to its development than if it was a one-and-done. Mainly the issues with story and art adjustments to appease the unpleaseable gacha gooner fanbase (COUGH COUGH firing Vellmori, Canto 6 being the mess that it was, losing Leviathan and Wonderlab, COUGH COUGH). And while I love that I don't have to turn this game into a job like other live services want me to do, I don't like the fact that I have to WAIT to see the story meaningfully progressed.

Rodya and Gregor still have much implied but not developed. We still don't know what the HELL is up with Blue Reverb 2: Demian's Crew. We still don't know exactly what the company is up to or who is bankrolling our operations. We still don't know what's up with the trains. We don't know if Bari is the same Bookhunter from the Bad Angela Ending of Ruina.

And other questions that are taking a hell of a long time to answer.

I mean LOR is also like this too. It took them basically 2 year to make a story about. It also do not have the adventure dialog since you are stuck in the Library.

Also PM did not fire vellmori, she left herself. (But it mostly cause of gooner)

Levi and Wonderlab happen before Limbus company. So no, they just got scam.

Although it true It would be better if it a one and done game. But that will not exists cause LOR and Lobotomy don't sell well to maintain the company.

So it basically PM gamble of earning money. Before they are bankrupt.

Also they do not want to keep using donations money. Cause they almost quit in making Lobotomy and LOR.
