Nothing There Inquisitors?
There's a particular encounter in the dungeon with 4 nothing there inquisitors. Some start out enraged already, and with multiple attacks per enemy. Whenever they hit, regardless of it being a won clash or one sided attack, they heal for a little over 100 HP, and from what I can tell, they're normal resistance against all damage types. How do you beat these guys?

They can stun my level 30s in a single attack, and heal more damage than all 5 of my characters put together can do in a single turn.

OH ALSO. If they get a hit on you, they stay enraged. So the enraged ones have a permanent +4 on all their rolls and 4 protection. And some of their attacks drain your sanity.

I skipped this fight in the 3rd dungeon. But i do wonder how do you should beat it?
Is there some sort of trick? And what you will get for it?

As far as I can tell you get access to another trial and there's no trick to it. You just have to... deal 300 damage to every enemy in 1 turn without giving them a chance to hit you?

Keep in mind they can't be staggered either.

Huh?
Sounds like... A pile of BS...
Are you sure there is no trick?

Yup, because I had to throw 3 teams at it to kill my whole squad and reset. Even with my strongest characters rocking all defense setups just to see how far into the fight I could go, 5 turns in and nothing popped up. You just walk into the encounter too, like a regular fight. So there's no way to use skillchecks or anything. So you just have to kill them in 1 turn I guess?

And what about E.G.O. gifts?
Maybe you need to have some specific combination of them?

Nope. There's no prompt for anything like that. Also I had every Ego gift in the dungeon except the one they themselves are guarding.

So what a point of it then? Just overstat and pray to RNJesus?

From my experience, the goal of this fight is to bring all Inquisitors to 0-1 Instinct, after which it becomes easy peasy. A couple of suggestions i can make:

1) Always have 1 or 2 single-coin skills at the ready, preferably on your Slash-resistant IDs. That allows you to hit the counter with minimal punishment.
2) If not hitting counter, use skills with most coins. Since Inquisitors lose 1 Instinct per hit, multi-coins are a way to win quickly.
3) Use E.G.O., if you have them available by turn 1/2. Better if you use AoE ones: more hits - less Instinct.
4) Pray to RNGesus. If you got unlucky enough to have 6 Instinct Inquisitor(s) and no E.G.O. by turn 2 - just restart, you won't win this one.

? They don't lose Instinct when they get hit I don't think. Because when I WAS focusing on the enraged ones to knock them out of it, but they didn't get knocked out even when I beat their attacks. Besides, they're rolling with a +4 for a max roll of 21. Unless you're rolling EGOs, they're going to win that roll most of the time and autostagger your team. (with normal slash resist and sin resist they were still doing 60 damage per landed attack. Hence the auto stun.)

EDIT: They DO in fact lose Instincts by getting hit. But assuming you can't reliably beat the rolls (you can't.), you're not going to be able to prevent them from getting it back by hitting you.

Also you assume the team can even survive unstaggered until turn 2.

Overstat what? They're level 30 characters, uptied to level 3. There's nowhere to go higher lol

They have a passive that says "Lose 1 Instinct when getting hit". Thing is, some of their skills also give them Instincts on hit, so they can simply outgain your attacks. And yes, they can roll high, which is why you need to pray to RNGesus. On my run, I've won after outrolling both on 3rd try, so they had 0-1 Instincts both next turn, and the rest was basically cleaning up.

Yeah if they don't have that boost they just become difficult instead of almost impossible. Do the back 2 gain extra attacks too? I never survived long enough to find out.

Oh, you mean that. Back ones are "Proceeding Inquisitors", basically a weaker version of the front ones. Which is why they have 1 slot. Front ones have 2 slots as baseline.

They give you trinket (one of 3 ) collectiong all 3 grants you a free passage to Kromer floor, without fight (same as rotten inquisitor insignia can solve a "floor is lava" event). Its pretty useless to fight em since kromer passage guards a way weaker and its faster to go through em than completeing this quest.
