level up

I am new to this game and I have one of my sinners at level 40, uptie 4.... ,my question is, how many levels can the sinners go up and after reaching level 40 my sinner are not getting xp anymore, why is that?

50 currently. You must beat latest contents to unlock more.

For now to Lvl 50

But you are unable to go higher than 40 until you beat the canto you are currently on.

Each canto you beat +5 max lvl.

Reason is just so that you go to a boss with skill and don't just ramp through story.

Which do not really work since there is support system.

Lore Reason, they are nerf and each time you beat a canto Dante lvl up from golden bough or knowledge I guess.
