Year 985-06 - A potential spoiler hiding in plain sight?

I've watched a lore video regarding a possibly theory that the City might be set to "live in interesting times", as the old curse would put it, that video had a point, considering that in the trailer, the population of the city, which is more than the current population of our world, plummeted rapidly in Year 985-06...now, either this is more for dramatic effect or something devastating is going to happen, something worse than the Pianist or the Crying Children in terms of the scale of destruction. I can see one of two things that could do that:

1 - A kaiju-sized Distortion. (there is at least one Abnormality that sized, that's Baba Yaga)
2 - Something WORSE than the Pianist in terms of a capacity to bring death and destruction.


There's also Dante's Doomsday Clock to consider, it got closer to midnight at the end of Chapter 7, I suspect that when that clock reaches midnight, they'd better be ready for what's coming, even if it has nothing to do with what was in the trailer for Limbus Company. Although it's not something that I can easily dismiss, as the story of Limbus Company from the Prologue to Chapter 7.5 was set in Year 984 and that means that Year 985-06 is only 6 months away...Whether it be what is suspected or Project Moon has changed their plans since then, I'm sure we'll find out eventually.

Well, they wouldn't draw attention to Dante's clock moving closer to midnight during main story chapters for no reason, the Doomsday Clock is a representation of how close the world is to being on course to a world of hurt and that's in reality, never mind a grimdark setting like the Project Moon universe. In reality, it showed how close our world was to nuclear war, in that game...it's likely to involve some kind of eldritch horror that's worse than the usual kind.

it's probably carmen fulfilling part of her goal of mass distorting people, i imagine it will be similar to lobotomy corps worst ending. If it's not that i imagine it might have something to do with the gates dante sees when reviving the sinners assuming it's not completely metaphorical.

Unlikely, as Angela wanted a more focused approach towards taking on the Head, at least compared to her previous approach.

If that's the case, it's her giving up on subtlety, so it's one of the following:

1 - Kaiju-sized Distortion with massive destructive power.
2 - A Distortion or Abnormality that's worse than the Pianist or WhiteNight (e.g. the abnormality that apparently obliterated a Wing that supposedly generated power by tapping into Hell)
3 - Mass Distortion by Carmen.

-N Corp wants to kill all mirror worlds and what else with power of golden boughs
-W Corp is dying and someone wants to overtake it
-P Corp wants to build a Shelter From 17th March but at home

-Limbus Company itself collects boughs for some reason
-Thumb is interested in Monoliths as well
-Dante is WN at home, and you know it's going to be bad once this clock hits 12

So yeah, the City got Corps doing shady ♥♥♥♥ while ticking timebomb aka Dante is having fun with his gang, so it's only reasonable that something ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up is going to happen in a future.

It's likely to be around the time when Ryoshu deals with her unfinished business. (e.g. the one that likely signed up for fun)
