Limbus Company

Would you rather join the Kurokumo Clan or the Blade Lineage?
Of course, living in the city is ♥♥♥♥ no matter where it is, but which faction do you prefer?

I'm torn because Bamboo Hatted Kim feels like he'd be a cool guy to learn from, but if the rest of the Kurokumos are anything like Jun, it sounds like they'd be way more fun.

kurokumo cuz i would have a higher chance of getting beaten up by tanya ()
punishment in Kurokumo clan is too brutal while the blade lineage is falling apart for being too soft or naive. if the question was fun then kurokumo clan, if you're a captain then you can relatively live in comfort if your boss knows not to step out of line and you get to do all kinds of missions in other sectors as well. the blade lineage if they are doing well then they're doing only bodyguard work, if they're not then you're either dead or a roaming ronin without a faction

What is the punishment in the Kurokumo clan? I havent played LoR, so I only know about the info from limbus.

BS question. KK clan of course. BL is just a band of hobos lead by a loser. Besides, as of now, they've lost everything.

Meanwhile KK is still under Thumb. And is pretty damn large, so I guess one could run his crew inside this organization and maybe even get protection from one of the thumb big shots. BL is literally the same as rats in terms of influence and clout, but members are stronger.

they're part of the Thumb syndicate, they're like the mafia where fingers get cut off for breaking rules or subordinates get offed because their superior questioned the big boss. Though if you watched Jun or KK gregor's backstory there is a lot of leniency as long as you're competent. Its only the Capo's that enforce such cruel punishment
It's like asking would you rather join the Yakuza or the Shinsengumi

And anyone that knows Japanese history should know how well the Shinsengumi are doing right now while the Yakuza still thrive.

More like, Yakuza or the band of ronins from 7 Samurai film. Realistically, in the PMverse, Yakuza are better.

When you say fingers are being cut off, do you mean like branches of the syndicates or like the appendages on my hand?

Both, actually. In LoR Thumb ordered an entire syndicate to be erradicated because they didn't manage to recover from an attack made by certain someone in time, so the Thumb decided they're the weakest link. And in the same conversation Stocapo ordered yet another extermination of the syndicate for questioning his orders, and even took the guy's hand as a punishment for speaking out of line if I am not mistaken. Not to mention that in another conversation they torture the messanger for being out of line again.

So, yeah, mutilation and extermination are pretty common. And considering that KK are Yakuza in PMverse, they also practie their own punishments like these. Yakuza in dystopian capitalist setting, where life is probably worth less than some meme cryptocurrency.

However, people seem to forget that KK clan is one of the largest syndicates of the city and are spread like plauge. So, unless you're somewhere way above and have to interract with the bois from the Thumb directly, there is a pretty good chance you will just mind your own thing and never be touched by the power dynamics, unless Thumb decides to kill all KK members. It's like, uh, a medieval peasant during a feudal lords, dukes and king's wars, most of the time the conflict of big shots doesn't bother you. I'd assume one can live pretty comfortable there.

which is pretty funny that joining the syndicates is considered living comfortably because being their enemy is hella bothersome

Mostly cause 70% or so of the population of the city apparently has to interract with them anyway. Either they come for your mom and pop kimchi joint for collections, or behead your neghbour for dealing crack in their territory, or beat you to the death cause you looked at someone from the gang the funny way. If you can't beat evil, join it. Not to mention, we're only humans. Strength in numbers and all.

The only exception I'd make is Index. ♥♥♥♥ these cultist, I'd live with BL, G-corp bugs, inside a whale in pequod town - literally anywhere but in their territory.

KK, they're in better favor with the Thumb, and are wiping out the BL. However if BL were stronger, they'd be an easy pick, basically they're just too weak for how carefree they are. As it stands BL isn't a practical choice.

there is one good thing, you dont pay taxes to the syndicate with the index. its the best place for the poor and weak at least until they find a stable job somewhere else.

dunno about the ring, living there as a middle class seems impossible. at best you make a lot of money and at worst you become paint for an F graded painting
