story-wise, I go for characters that are the most fleshed out. Limbus Company still be infantile in its age if it is to span to Purgatory and Paradise means that most of all of the characters have yet to properly 'flesh out' in their being; meaning that some of them might come off as flanderized, such as Ryoshu, Sinclair, Meursault, Outis (though this is changing with her implied guilt/regret in probably a failed strike/defense of thousands of combatants), Faust, etc., A lot of the characters can still come off as static, but I wouldn't blame that on the writing just yet--moreso it is due to everything having been episodic until recently. now sinners are getting more attention in Cantos and Intervallos that are not their own, and that should be the way of being written so no sinner is left to lag behind in development due to each Canto lasting 6-7 months.
hong lu might be up there with my favorites since it is clear he isn't naive for the sake of being an idiot, so I like his character because that groundedness of him is buried beneath whatever illusion of ignorance he has chosen to live with.
Gregor is also up there because he is quite literally an average guy with biogenetics, so he speaks his mind without much thought to it or who he is speaking to.
don quixote was originally my favorite but I am worried with how they will manage to write her and her sancho side without making it feel artificial.
Yi Sang is my favorite so far because, in my opinion, his story was by far the most fleshed out and is currently involved in the overarching plot regarding the main antagonists of Hermann's group, the fact that we have Mirror tech, and that he is likely the most dangerous sinner out of the 12, including Sancho due to him being the force (or just the catalyst) of mirror tech. not dangerous in what he can do but what he did do: because of this, Hermann wants to exploit Mirrors to their absolute fullest, which will likely not only cause chaos for other worlds but potentially even bring them to the world the story is set in once better, stronger, and more reliable Mirror tech is brought into the hands of Hermann that can rival the Identity Cards. Could you imagine if Hermann managed to perfect the Mirror world tech and draw out something like a Colored Fixer Identity to one of themselves? Or if they siege Mirror Worlds and find one where the City and the Head have all been destroyed, leaving their technology out in the open?"
Dunno why we have to pick one of them and form tribes.
i like yuri btw. there is something cool about taking up fixer work after surviving the fall of L corp
