Limbus Company

Limbus Company

The length of the game
So considering that each Canto is a story about one sinner its obvious that there will be 12 Cantos and maybe a 13th Canto about Dante. But whats then? To be honest, I've never seen a gacha game to close. Also as Kim Jihoon said on the first stream, Limbus company was firstly made to keep Project moon supported with money, so can we expect a new story game like Lcorp and LoR in 2-3 years?

It is said that every Canto is an introduction to each sinner, so it's fair to think we will have more after the first twelve. Like every other game that gives money to a company, this is not going to end anytime soon.

it will most likely have a purgatorio too, while also having a very easy integration with all other possible games, since everything happens in 1 universe

It's completely up in the air.

If we look at how Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina were created without needing funding from a more predatory gacha game, then we can infer that Project Moon has had the ability to produce another higher quality game even prior to the release of Limbus Company.
Realistically speaking, it's more likely that Project Moon will continue to milk this game for as long as they can. It wouldn't be too far-fetched for them to create additional story content even after each Sinner has their own Canto completed.

Whether PM actually has any intention of making another game aside from Limbus is separate and questionable.
Project Moon is a company whose goal is to make money, and they've been shifting further into the design philosophy of prioritising profits over quality.

I personally doubt that we'll ever see PM make a game as good as LoR or LobCorp again. And if they did, it would probably be another gacha.

Well, actually Project Moon was created as an enthusiast company of some students who wanted to create their own game with cool and deep lore. Thus, the world have seen the Lobotomy corporation. After receiving recognition within gamers and some money from Lcorp, they have created Library of Ruina. Their next step, as was said in the first PM stream, was to make a game that will keep the company alive. If you compare the Limbus company with any other gacha, you will see how much effort is put into the lore. If Limbus company was created only for money purpose, there wouldnt be such a good lore. I believe that PM are preparing another project already that will develop the lore further. At the moment, there is no ending for PM lore except than Limbus Company collecting all Golden Boughs and becoming rich as a typical Syndicate. In my opinion, its totally not a good ending for such a good universe

The progress of those projects is up in the air. There hasn't been word on them for many years and my understanding of PM's current staff situation is that they've got everyone working on Limbus Company. Even if they do have a skeleton crew working in the background on the game's systems and infrastructure I imagine that they'd have to find an opportunity to cycle in the necessary artists from Limbus Company to produce assets and write the story and characters, and neither of those things are something you can do very quickly, especially to the quality standards of PM. None of this to mention the fact that, supposedly, Wonderlab had some sort of tie to one of those projects and that's now a complicated affair, though it may just have been as simple as alluding to a new business dynamic within the city where Fixer offices started specializing in handling distortions. I'd like to believe LC2 and LC-B are still alive, but I don't know if we'll see them anytime soon.

There's 26 districts. Each district would then have at least one branch facility. So it stands to reason there should be at bare minimum 26 Cantos, with the leading theory being that every sinner (including Dante), will get 2 Cantos each.

depends on how project moon wants to extend the game life or the story. I pray that when the game is finish they can make it an offline game to play forever.
The game is going by the epic poem of Divine Comedy.
Which describes Dante's Journey through Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso.

If you go to the Drive menu, the ticket says Inferno.
You can make an easy assumption that they will start Purgatorio once they finish Inferno which will probably be when they have gone through all the Sinners.

Also if you are familiar with Divine Comedy, Virgilius will not be with us forever and at some point Beatrice will be our new guide, which I am curious what they are going to do to Virgilius when his time as a guide comes to an end.

clearly vergilius transitions partway through
Most likely it'll be 3 sets of 12-13 cantos, with the final canto of each set being the ending to that 'chapter of the game'. This is based on the structure of dante's inferno and fact KJH wants to extend this game out about 10 years if not more. As far as each canto goes, most of their stories are FAR from complete. To the point that sinclair's only covers basically the first chapter or two and Gregor/Rodian basically didn't have cantos. It's likely their next canto will actually see a proper resolution to some of things we've seen, followed by a canto where they grow and become stars of their right.

Well, KJH mentioned he wants the thing to go for 10 years. Not to mention that gacha games don't have an actual end. So I suppose after the main story is done, he will just use it to make $$ out of random lore-dumps on PMverse.

I do hope he, or whoever is there in charge of plot, improves their skill, so the whole thing stops suffering from "wide as a lake, deep as a puddle" problem.

I'm hoping the puddle starts to deepen on the Sinners 2nd Canto
