Hope the issue gets figured out soon
I am unsure if this "fix" is consistent, has only happened 3 times, and the other 2 times I had re-verified the files, will update on my findings if the issue isn't found by then.
Edit: Coincidentally, if this is somehow a hardware issue with how windows is ending support on windows 10. My PC does run windows 10 OS currently
When opening the game, have task manager open on the side.
The game while it's loading will cap out the disk utilization and for some reason the resources it needs exceeds what allows the PC to run so a really easy way to figure this out is to have some kind of audio/video playing in the background.
Now assuming your internet isn't dying from external means. You will want to kill the limbus company executable when you notice the video/audio stops playing sound, which indicates that it can't load any content.
I am unsure if you have to do this multiple times, but basically, doing these steps until the game fully loads will remove the long wait-time that's required with downloading the cache's each session.
If you're wondering how you will know the game is "fully loaded". The game will no longer be stuck on the start screen and transition to the loading screen.
I cannot provide any insight if there's issues after the starting screen
I hope this helps anybody with the same issue
TLDR;
This is not a complete fix, but a workaround until the issue is addressed
When opening Limbus Company:
- Have task manager on the side
- Open a video/audio on a streaming site like youtube or some other site
- When the video/audio stops playing, end task on LimbusCompany.exe
- Re-open Limbus Company
- Repeat Steps 3-4 (if needed) until Limbus Company transitions to the loading screen.
For me everytime I play the game and click the screen to connect to the servers, I have to wait for like 3 minutes for it to finally enter into the game, but the application itself is not frozen. It just stays there playing the music and connecting to the game servers while using 100% of my HDD. And the reason why it takes so long I assume is that because this drops my fps to 5~10.
Another thing I noticed is that sometimes when I'm playing and during combat gameplay I hear crackling noises coming from the components inside my PC case. Overheating? Should I be concerned about this?
I don't think this game was supposed to be this much demanding. There is clearly something weird going on.
