How to beat 3-4 (Taboo)
Ive been struggling for hours, Ive changed my lineup to focus on bash and still havent even gotten close to beating it. Any ideas on how to beat that level? :emilieDare:

As everyone else has been saying: Blunt damage is the key to dealing with those enemies. The really annoying thing about the K Corp goons at the start of chapter 3 is that they passively heal so if you're not doing enough damage they'll just heal back to full.

If most of your current team does slash damage you'll have to start raising some alternate units. Pretty much everything in chapter 3, excluding some encounters in the dungeon, is weak to blunt damage. If you happen to have R Corp Ishmael she's a great pick for the entire chapter. Otherwise the base (LCB) IDs for Faust, Heath and Meur work well enough. You can also just borrow R Corp Ishmael from someone else if you haven't gotten her yet. The support function is kinda hidden in this game so I'll include a short explanation about how to use it at the end of my post.

The other thing to consider is how uptied your units are. The base 1* LCB IDs and EGOs get uptied to tier 3 automatically after you clear chapter 2 so they might be better than whoever you're using. Upgrading a unit to T2 unlocks their second skill and first passive. Upgrading a unit to T3 upgrades both skill 1, skill 2 AND unlocks both skill 3 (a unit's most powerful attack) and the unit's other passive. It costs a lot of thread, but it's very worth it. If you've been sitting on your thread for some reason, you might want to consider spending that to uptie whoever you plan to use for chapter 3.

You may also need to level your team up too. The first two chapters will let you get away with being underleveled, but for chapter three I would really recommend making sure your team meets the level requirement for each stage. You'll probably want most of your team at level 30 to deal with the dungeon at the end of chapter anyway so you may want to put the story on hold for now and start spending your energy/stam/Enk on the EXP ticket stage instead.

As a final note on chapter 3 and minor spoiler: the boss of chapter 3's dungeon has a NASTY passive that hard counters bleed and burn effects (this includes N Corp IDs, since their signature "nail" effect causes bleed even if their moves don't). So, if your main squad focuses on spamming either of those effects PLEASE make sure you include some other IDs in your squad that don't inflict Bleed or Burn. Otherwise you'll be in for a REAL bad time when you arrive at that boss. Bleed and Burn is fine to use throughout the rest of the dungeon though.

So, about support units.....

After you've friended someone you can bring one of their support units with you into battle as a temporary replacement for one of yours. If you were to friend me for example (here's my ID V832 827 019 if you do want to) and wanted to borrow my R Corp Ishmael you would click the switch (on the party select screen), click on Ishmael, click on "support" (up at the top), select my ID from the list and then return to the party selection screen by clicking the back arrow. You can then choose my Ishmael like you would any other unit and bring them on the mission. You can't use supports on Mirror Dungeon runs but there are no other limits as far as I know.

Get 5 characters who deal good blunt damage to level 20+ and make sure they're uptied too (you can uptie and level up characters by holding left click on their portraits in the sinner menu)

It's important to note that in some cases it's worthwhile to use base Sinner IDs over the gatcha options, Heathcliff and Faust are good examples (though N-Faust could be a better option if you've got her to uptie 3). If you've made enough Battlepass progress to have it, Gregor's Legerdemain is a very powerful option since it's dirt cheap AOE blunt.
You can also try borrowing a level 30 uptie 3 ID from a friend, the Friend code thread is a good place to beef up your firend list, and some of the IDs like 7-Outis and R-Ish can be pretty useful for putting out blunt damage

Uptie your nuggets to level three asap. Also do not neglect the defense dices, they can be wonderful if you have mediocre offensive dices again powerful enemy dices.

Blunt characters and blunt ego. Based Heartcliff Identity is especially powerful this chapter, Ishmael, Faust, LLC Ishmael, LLC Rodion, Zwei Sinclair, Mexican Sinclair, Liu crew has a lot of blunt. N-word identities also have a lot of blunt, tho be careful as they are often weak to blunt as well. For the egos, Bodysac, Legerdemain, Land of Illusion (Hong Lu), Repression Emitter(Faust), Fluid Sac(Faust), TETH on Rodion, Pursuance to heal in a pinch.

Wowsers, thats a big answer! Thank you for taking the time to go so in-depth!!

Ive already been using HC, Ish and Meursault, sadly to no avail. But yours and the other folks' advice to go frogging bonkers on levelups/tie-ups sounds really good, and I also appreciate the warning about status effects :stella_happy:

Level 15-20 sinners are good enough so please, please don't grind them to 30 until you've beat railway and are finished with the game's content (for now) [but even then, it's not really worth it. I have mine at lvl 25 and they're spectacular].
Uptie your identities to Uptie 3! They will be underwhelming and lose most clashes otherwise, so don't prioritise 000's and 00's over 0's unless they're Uptie 3. Base Heathcliff, Outis and Hong Lu are esp good for this chapter.
Chapter 3 enemies (apart from the boss) have fatal resistance to blunt (2x damage), so use blunt attacks here. They also tend to have high clash values, so use EGO's to clash against attacks that you just can't win and/or high damage.
You also don't need any EGO's from battlepass or shop. Base EGO's are good enough, but those other EGO's will help a lot.

Very surprised to read this, almost everyone else is practically shouting at lil' ol' me to level up to max. Thats a relief, thank you very much for your advice :orwell_relationship:

To everyone else, I really appreciate the hints yall gave me! Thank you so very much for taking the time to write these lovely comments :stella_happy:
