One thing that stands out with Yi Sang's Liu Association identity is that he wields a sword, either this is more due to personal preference or only those Section 3 or higher are allowed to wield them, likely because they're symbols of authority over the lower Sections.

I don't think it's a status symbol. Half of the top tier Liu characters used fists. And they ranked higher than the unnamed sword users.

The Sanity Heal is interesting though. From the Book of the Liu we know that they imbue their clothes with M Corp Singularity - the Moonstone, which grants them protection from psychic attacks
