cant use support ids and i don't have any good slash ID to stagger him fast, any advice on how to beat this man? im anxious to play canto vi and can't get good at the game

Canto VI isn't going anywhere. Either get better Slash IDs, or uptie your hardest-hitting Slash-resistant IDs to IV.

You don't have to stagger him before the first time he uses TCYB, but you're still gonna wanna finish him off before he can use it a second time.

right now my best slash id would be dieci hong lu but he doesn't help cuz hes a sinking unit and boss uses negative coins, so, what slash ID would you say it's the optimal one i could get for this battle? im relatively new to the game so i'm not rlly conscious of the meta

Dieci Honglu is fine to use. Just don't use more than >1 sinking id for this fight.

Hard to give advice without knowing what other ids you have.

♥♥♥♥ the meta. We're talking the basics here.

Basic #1: Hit weaknesses. If you don't have good sources of Pride damage, use Wrath.
Basic #2: Don't hit resistances. If you don't have Slash, Pride, or Wrath, use Pierce, Envy, and Gluttony.
Basic #3: One ID won't solve all your problems no matter how """""optimal""""" it is. This is a team-building game. A team of 00s and base IDs that can cover the damage types and Sin Affinities you need will do a lot better than a team of 000s that doesn't.

There are plenty of good Slash IDs that meet those criteria in the Dispenser as we speak, and you can always check out what their stats will be before you shard them. It's easier to tell you which ones you should probably avoid:

- Any Blade Lineage ID (including BL Faust because her kit is deliberately bad for this fight)
- Any Kurokumo ID (inflicting Paralysis will screw you over even harder than Sinking)
- Any Shi ID (just bad all around)
- Any Sinking ID (which you already know)
- Any ID whose S2 and S3 deal Blunt damage with Lust, Sloth, or Gloom affinity.. (If only some of the above are true you can still make it work. Regret Faust, for example, works pretty well in this fight because her S2 and S3 affinities are favorable, even though her damage type and her S1's affinity aren't.)

I got stuck on DBHK for a while, and I used Zwei Gregor, Seven Faust, *, KK Hong Lu, and Dawnclair with two slots when I finally cleared him. I don't necessarily recommend this team, but it's what I had, and it got the job done. The game really wants you to use BL IDs, but they're mostly hot garbage no matter how much meta ♥♥♥♥♥♥ want to glaze BL Yi Sang.

Check your EGOs too; try to use ones that give Wrath resistance when he has Yield My Flesh readied so that, if you fail to stagger him, you'll still have a shot at surviving TCTB. Chains of Others can be a lifesaver too.

TYSM stranger, i will keep ur advice in mind, as for the BL IDs i considered using BL Yi Sang bc he's a slash unit but when i tried him in MD he was so mid i never used it again, i'll be patient and try my luck with the Ryoshu banner bc shes the character i have the most shards of and i may get lucky and get a slash ID, or maybe use her base ID for experimentation. thank you so much as i'm rlly stuck here and any advice is worth a lot for me

You are correct. You have to uptie him to IV to make him marginally usable, and even then he's only about on-par with the average UT3 00 nowadays. Getting him to 15 Poise to trigger his conditionals isn't even possible outside MD because he's so trash at gaining Poise.

BL Faust is actually pretty good normally, so it really sucks that she has the deck fully stacked against her in this fight. If you pull LobCorp Remnant Faust or Seven Faust, they're reasonably solid choices, particularly the latter.

i'll be patient and try my luck with the Ryoshu banner bc shes the character i have the most shards of and i may get lucky and get a slash ID, or maybe use her base ID for experimentation.

Ryoshu certainly has no shortage of slash IDs, and you can do a lot worse than her base ID in this fight. If you don't get what you need from pulls, hopefully you get enough shards to buy W Ryoshu, as she's pretty ridic here (and in general).

You seem to know what the fight expects from you, so it's just a matter of delivering it. Don't feel bad if you have to grind MD until you have a suitable team built for this. The only prize for being caught up to everybody else is waiting for the next season with everybody else.

just reminder he is negative coins, so never ever try using a single singking that make him get negative sanity that buff him to god mode.

use bleed / tremor / charge id.

like w ryoshu w don, pure uga bunga dps damage without any sinkings.

preetty much 100% first timer mistake fighting kim is using sinking because not checking his skill sets.

he is dps check specially when he reach 50% kim go very wild. you kill him fast or he kill you.

you can borrow kim mersault.

Slash IDs are good but imo pride affinity IDs are even better. Also make use of the EGO gifts in shops/events, for example wound clerid can do chip damage with bleed, and special contract makes this fight a joke. Also avoid clashing unless you are confident that you will win, losing one clash basically undoes all of Kim's SP gain during the turn.

I really don't understand how people are struggling with this fight. When I did it back then I brought all my BL Lineage IDs, including Faust, Sinclair and Outis and had no trouble beating the fight at first try. LV40/UT4 BL Yi Sang and Faust basically carried the fight for me making good use of the Poise EGO Gifts I got through the dungeon. BL Sinclair helped a bit winning hard clashes with his Skill 3 and putting some paralyze occasionaly.
Maybe Outis Queen in Binds E.G.O helped a lot too but I quite don't remember.

The thing is, as long as you get EGO gifts you can benefit through the dungeon, and save the most amount of sin you can so that can spam EGOs against Kim to win the hardest clashes, you're fine. You just don't have to let him stack poise. Use dodge to avoid some of his dangerous attacks. Use EGOs against the attacks you can't beat with skills or dodge them instead, and then once he gets to -45 SP the rest of the fight is a piece of cake.

It's very easy to end up with a crap team for this fight if you are new, barely have any egos and your main damage type is all wrong. I ended up with the only usable team being sinkers and it took me maybe 7-8 restarts until the stars aligned for timely staggers
