Limbus Company

Limbus Company

I'm seeing some definite power creep now
The WN Identities roll a max of twelve, unconditionally, on their S1.
There are skill 1 that roll a 9 but have +5 offence level to make up for it (or are just really bad S1 IDs), but these outstrip them completely, having conditionals to make them even stronger. And then offence level on top of that.

I also noted that the enemies in the WN event fight were a bit challenging versus S1. Heck, even the shiny new IDs will lose if they flip a tails coin at just the time the enemy decides that it's lack of an SP tag means "All heads!"

I dunno, I guess I just feel we've started on a slow incline of power creep.

Honestly, if the power creep ever gets particularly bad, they'll probably start introducing new mechanics. Like for instance reintroducing L-corp bullets like was referenced in this event. I could see us getting a whole new thing where we get a clip of ammo Dante can use to interact with the battle. It's be most logical thing and even if new IDs wouldn't normally need the help running it with Base IDs might eventually be impossible without it.
We do have the clockstopping mechanics.

I guess it felt particularly noteworthy to me, because I tried pitting Dieci Rodion's S1 versus one of their basic skills, and she was outgunned even if she flips all heads... and that kind of stood out to me.

What are you on about, did she have insight 3? Insight 3 and her S1 clash power will not fall behind 90% of other ids skills 1 and she has 3 coins skill, actually how many S1 does more dmg than her?

EGO Philip, Insight 3 HL (but clash worse), Prob Ring Sang with his passive and if you ignore Rodya passive. Who else?

As another person pointed out, her incite may have been problem. Though realistically speaking the enemies seemed to have skills built around S2s and S3s. Your S1s will likely never have the power needed to overcome that reliably and instead your tossing out those for ego resources. I would only get concerned about it an ID from late season 2 stops being able to function well using their S2 since before that point you get a pretty wild variance in terms of numbers.

I'll give that the Dieci Rodion thing was a bad example, because conditionally, she can roll very good, and unconditionally, she can roll very bad.

... We have early Season 2 ID with badly set up S2. I use Rosespanner Rodion for her sin generation in MD Tremor Team runs, and her S2 relies on a condition that cannot be fulfilled while it matters (when they get that much tremor count, they probably got staggered). What would count as the late Season 2 to be worried about?

And how long after that would it take for Uptie 5 to come out and try to rebalance it.

Just nice that this game doesn't have gacha equipment & handling multiple levels of materials :/
Don't forget, needing to get dupes to unlock the rest of the characters special mechanics so that they can play just like in the Demo's they like to showcase when a new character comes out.

Hoyoverse games are the biggest offenders with their low chance in getting S/5* characters and needing to get 5 more dupes with banners open for such little time.

Don't forget weapon banner and worst of all... SUBSTAT grinding.

I only got into Honkai Impact so far from them --- I just pull on banners I'm missing stuff from (I kinda got lucky in that instead of Limbus this week... got the new Theresa battlesuit in 20 pulls.) and ignore the whole 'power up via gacha shard chances thing'. It's ridiculous, but to that game's credit, it got multiple minigames every version since I got into it. I kinda enjoy those more than the standard gameplay loop.

It's something I hope Limbus Company does down the line --- gameplay variety. They really crank out the IDs/EGOs and those are nice, but there are just so many teams one can put together.

I'm starting to shape teams for Blunt/Pierce/Slash with leftover IDs, but really, cycling through those 10 teams is 10 weeks and I'm pushing it by bothering.

My god, that is what killed my enthusiasm in hoyo games, in ZZZ I try to get crit/crit dmg for Ellen and with one of those Ice disks (Frostpunk, I think?) it gives me freaking Fire or Electric Damage Bonus... on an Ice Disk!

Nah, I don't think mobs in the event were that hard to win clashes against when you can bring BL Outis without BL Meursault support and have she winning clashes with her 1th and 2th skill consistently, as long as you have high SP and do resonance chains or course. If anything they were too easy.

Those where the ids I brought in one Hard run I did when completing the missions:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3325153506
LV42/Uptie 4 Liu Rodion, LV41/Uptie 3 Liu Ryoshu, LV42/Uptie 4 BL Outis, then maxed Wild Hunt Cliff and friend Coffin Yi sang.
Neither Ryoshu or Outis were having a bad timing winning clashes in this comp. I don't even get surprised at Liu Rodion because her clash power always seemed above average to me. As I have good memories of her pretty much single handed carrying me through Canto 3 and 4, even when she was like 5 to 8 levels under the recommended for the fights, while also being Uptie 3 for the majority of Canto 3. At the time I barely had any resources and IDs variety to upgrade.

In Mihoyo's games you never need to get a dupe of a 5 star character unless you just don't know how to play or just don't know how to team build, but It's very difficult to actually be bad on those two fronts because their games are pretty easy to play and learn, which is why you don't need dupes... Unless it's a particular 4 star, then you'll have a much harder time getting dupes of that 4 star than you do getting a single 5 star

True however, majority of people are meta chasers and it is always nice to see high numbers flash up in games. The character demos displays characters at their highest potential and that is a scheme to get players to wanting the newest character but if you want the character to be just as effective as the Demo, you need to have dupes of them, with their extremely terrible odds in getting them along with getting the character specific Light Cone/W-Engine you gonna have to cough up the cash because being F2P, you will not have enough time to farm enough pull currency to get the 5* character AND their specific Light Cone/W-engine before the end of the banner window, you are also at the mercy of the 50/50 pity system (Tried to get Zhu Yuan and did the math that I would be able to get her AND her W-Engine but her banner gave me Soldier 11 instead thus throwing a wrench to my entire plan). The powercreep in all the mihoyo games is also terrible, rendering many older character useless while the new characters can do what the older ones did way better. Finally they also have Sub Stat RNG which can end up having the most worse to useless stats in the gears that you put EXP mats in. Their games have so many things set up for your failure.

This is all coming from someone that plays GBF F2P.

The majority of people are not meta chasers... they're casual andys who mostly for story and exploration and non-gameplay aspects.
