I guess it felt particularly noteworthy to me, because I tried pitting Dieci Rodion's S1 versus one of their basic skills, and she was outgunned even if she flips all heads... and that kind of stood out to me.
EGO Philip, Insight 3 HL (but clash worse), Prob Ring Sang with his passive and if you ignore Rodya passive. Who else?
I'll give that the Dieci Rodion thing was a bad example, because conditionally, she can roll very good, and unconditionally, she can roll very bad.
... We have early Season 2 ID with badly set up S2. I use Rosespanner Rodion for her sin generation in MD Tremor Team runs, and her S2 relies on a condition that cannot be fulfilled while it matters (when they get that much tremor count, they probably got staggered). What would count as the late Season 2 to be worried about?
And how long after that would it take for Uptie 5 to come out and try to rebalance it.
Hoyoverse games are the biggest offenders with their low chance in getting S/5* characters and needing to get 5 more dupes with banners open for such little time.
Don't forget weapon banner and worst of all... SUBSTAT grinding.
I only got into Honkai Impact so far from them --- I just pull on banners I'm missing stuff from (I kinda got lucky in that instead of Limbus this week... got the new Theresa battlesuit in 20 pulls.) and ignore the whole 'power up via gacha shard chances thing'. It's ridiculous, but to that game's credit, it got multiple minigames every version since I got into it. I kinda enjoy those more than the standard gameplay loop.
It's something I hope Limbus Company does down the line --- gameplay variety. They really crank out the IDs/EGOs and those are nice, but there are just so many teams one can put together.
I'm starting to shape teams for Blunt/Pierce/Slash with leftover IDs, but really, cycling through those 10 teams is 10 weeks and I'm pushing it by bothering.
Those where the ids I brought in one Hard run I did when completing the missions:

LV42/Uptie 4 Liu Rodion, LV41/Uptie 3 Liu Ryoshu, LV42/Uptie 4 BL Outis, then maxed Wild Hunt Cliff and friend Coffin Yi sang.
Neither Ryoshu or Outis were having a bad timing winning clashes in this comp. I don't even get surprised at Liu Rodion because her clash power always seemed above average to me. As I have good memories of her pretty much single handed carrying me through Canto 3 and 4, even when she was like 5 to 8 levels under the recommended for the fights, while also being Uptie 3 for the majority of Canto 3. At the time I barely had any resources and IDs variety to upgrade.
This is all coming from someone that plays GBF F2P.
