He has one good EGO (Legerdermain) and the rest are either status-exclusive or bad.
Unless that new EGO is gonna do something similar to Meursault's Regret where all the IDs get buffed with the passive then a new EGO isn't going to make much considering a large chunk of Greg's IDs are average or worse.

That's why Heathcliff should have gotten the EGO and not Gregor. At least Gregor would get a chance at getting a cool ID in 3-4 months Walpurgis instead of an EGO that people probably won't end up using much because of the issue that he has which is lack of good IDs. Even if Heathcliff already got Erlking and that Fell EGO, at least can just use any EGO and not have any problems with it because he can carry and support the team with lot of IDs like Erlking, Pequod, Rabbit, etc, while Greg.. well now we have to wait until october at the very least for a 3 star ID since we already got the edgar greg this season.
You do know the entire point of the post was for Heathcliff to be the Walpurgis EGO sacrifice so Gregor has a chance at getting a Walpurgis ID next event, right? Of course Gregor needs IDs and EGOs but like I said, unless that new EGO is going to be roughly on the same level as Meur's Regret then it's not really going to do much for Gregor and he lost his chance of getting anything WN related for more-or-less a year. Also shards doesn't matter with new WN content, only lunacy and extraction tickets.
Why does Gregor need a Walpurgis ID?
Walpurgis IDs tend to be status-team specific... granted, we only have a small sample size of 3, but the last 2 are pretty specific to burn team & not so great outside of it.
What Gregor needs is a good generalist id, not another status team specialist.
edit: also why would Heathcliff get another EGO? He got Binds this season, he got Fell Bullet not so long ago. He has 7 EGOs and there's still multiple sinners with only 6 atm.
you mean you dont like the fact that theres only 3 non walpurgis burn ids? (no, hong lu, gregor, and mersault dont count, theyre garbage)
He is --- I think he gets overlooked because he does no status whatsoever and defense skills don't make you win fights.

Because the majority of the IDs that got released usually ends up doing a good job at what they do and people usually end up using them on their teams.. although, granted, most of that success came around because the 3 star IDs had AoE and 2 of those IDs doesn't really have a lot of competition since they are burn IDs, so the new Gregor ID, although like you said, would probably end up being status-specific, but at least it would be designed to try fix certain flaws with a status effect, have some kind of AoE, and/or maybe add some kind of unique gimmick like Bullet Outis and Dark flame.
I mean, I guess they could still do that in the form of regular IDs but, like I said, WN usually tries to stand out on its own with things a status effect might want or need on their team, while regular IDs are always a big gamble and sometimes you even have to deal with sinners that have to fight against each other with the same status effect, like Ishmael having 3 sinking and Gregor having 3 bleed, and if the ID is focused on damage, inflicting status, support, etc.
And another reason totally doesn't involve me wanting Gregor with big monster-abnormality arm(s) as an ID.
As for the Heathcliff EGO, well, since Yi sang and Ryoshu were getting IDs, Gregor and Heathcliff were basically the last candidates to not get anything for Walpurgis, so I kinda went with Heathcliff EGO just for a chance of Gregor to get something more next WN. Although I guess no EGO could have also been an option I guess.
He is an okay general id. Decent. But nothing outstanding. Ryoshu has 3(!) outstanding ids for example.
