Though at least they decided to toughen their stance?
I'll hope for a nice difficulty spike on RR5
(i chose not to cheese it my first run, had to reset a few times, but when i finally one i had lost most of my sinners but won in the end)
it might be because she's sancho at that point in time maybe? idk
(There's soloing, but it seems tricky, not intended, and might get nerfed hard later.)
*Because good luck getting that many to...
-Obtain 11 000 IDs, whereof atleast 9 have competent rolls, possibly excluding Don.
-Have the resources to uptier them to III+ and level 50.
-Ideally to bring some competent evasion IDs (impalement + AOE avoidance).
Provided one plays it as intended, and is a veteran with acces to all the good stuff, one still loses 50-75% of the sinners due to bleed, AOEs, poor RNG or attrition. It's a chain battle for a reason, after all...
And people thought whatshername was a giant roadblock in Yi Sang's chapter... Heh... (I'll personally never understand what was so "hard" about her, maybe it's just a meme.)
it's not like there's any other content to do after that. The difficulty is fine folks! Stop asking for nerfs, you know what kind of game you are playing.
i mean tbf, this isnt supposed to be content you can just walk into and effortlessly clear after finishing chapter 6 and the intervallos, the biggest offense i saw is how dang powerful evasion is in it, to a ridiculous extent considering guarding or countering will easily net you 20+ bleed and a bunch of count if you dont have enough coins and clashes to purge it (i think it was Be Impaled that removes some bleed, but i didnt find it worthwhile)
(i used some 00 ids and they performed fine, tho i kept middle mersault as last deployed to milk his passive)
Edit: i will state that i did all the way up to the final fight with just a lvl50 wild hunt heath and everyone else lvl 45 (after i went in the first time i realized i needed some evade ids so i leveled a bunch of those which at a lot of modules before doing final fight)
Took me about 5-6 and then I just gave up and went "Okay lemme see if I can cheese this with Don". That worked surprisingly well. Honestly if I kept hammering away at it normally I probably would have cleared by now or in a day or two. I just found the fight unfun though.
There's been a streamer or two I remember taking awhile too, names escape me cause I tend to click to see reactions to key points rather than full playthroughs. Might need to see if they're still in my history.
And now the dudes bragging about beating bosses pre-nerf will have to find something meaningful to brag about instead.
Didn't take a whole lot of tries to beat, but considering attempts can easily take 5~10min each due to cutscenes, losing focus and patience from growing agitation doesn't help.
I really do hope they consider the issues with the new mechanics this Canto. Unbreakable coins are great, especially delivering on the reason they were made. But applying, in some cases unavoidable, 'Pure Damage' status onto Sinners, adding unmanageable Atk Weight on top of some of those skills, with a few having high bases values, really does not create an enjoyable challenge. Including having equal or more skill slots to tackle from the enemy side with all of that.
There's also way too much emphasis on Evade, where the other two Defense Skills already underperform, and too much Potency & Count application of 'Pure Damage' statuses where it quickly becomes unmanageable without excessive healing.
As much as I love the story and enjoyed the Canto experience, I really did not enjoy how unfair some of the unavoidable damage got thrown at us or how dissonant Evade was for these fights. Like unless they make stuff that's 'unavoidable' or something, Evade defense skills are going to create balancing problems with this kind of direction.
Underleveled crew: "What did it mean by this?"
