Limbus Company

Limbus Company

Burnout and Promises.
Is anyone just...feeling complete burnout from this situation? Its been like 2 years and...not much things has been done to actually fulfill the promises that PM wanted to do overall. Like genuinely, its getting to the point where were mostly restless from this gatcha game alone and we actually want to play something that feels good like LoR is.

Even if this is a game that is suppose to generate...profits, at this point in time, PM generated enough profits to fund alot of stuff and hire help to divide the work up to work an actual game. But they keep getting distracted with stuff that should really be done later on-wards when their more established, as the anime idea sounds like a should be done last after we managed to create enough games scenario.

Like, god, from 2 years this gatcha game has been going onwards, we've been getting wrapped into drama and controversy to the point that it just doesn't feel worth it to ever engage with this live service ♥♥♥♥ again. Does anyone else feel this, because this is just...unfeasible from how much is lacking from the actual game in question. Because the "this is game is for fueling our other ventures" sounds more like an excuse then a good promise that isn't being met as of now.

Kim JiHoon has explicitly stated he doesn't want to hire more people because he feels like he's at his limit of people he can manage; unless he's willing to expand the company significantly and bring in more managers and directors, that's not going to change, especially since he also mentioned increasing his employees pay if I recall correctly.

He's unfortunately trying to tackle to many things at the same time by himself. Which ironically is hindering progression.
I agree; I understand he doesn't want to see his employees as numbers, but the fact is you can't run a company like a club, and it's actively hurting the company because he's trying to do precisely that. I don't think Project Moon is closing up anytime soon, but it could be run better if he gave up on trying to be the "good boss" his employees want and focused on expanding to a more reasonable size; forty-five employees is not enough people to run a game like Limbus Company.

Its the ever repiting pattern
-Pm gets money from project
-Try a side project
-Side project managment is ♥♥♥♥
-Side project cancel, money run out
-Repeat
Leviatan, Distortion Detective, NOW "AnImE"?

*The only full fledge side project was Wonder Lab, which was basicly "do watever you want" to the artist, and now is OUT public view

And we had seen other ♥♥♥♥ show from managment too
Translator having very short times, no test group, Coding still being a mess is all internal

I mean like... Leviathan is complete and Distortion Detective was just KJH's personal pet project sorta like a fanfic at first. There's no team or management, it was just 1 guy writing it for fun.

Treat the game like a live service visual novel. They don't have to budget to be constantly adding content and game modes like Zenless Zone Zero or other gacha.

They definitely have money, they have said in a live stream previously that they could run for a 2 years or so without any revenue.

The problem is that they don't have enough to casually spend on projects, such as anime / movie / short vids / ect.. ect... But those are things nobody is really asking for.

Don't get me wrong, those are cool and all, but that shouldn't be their primary focus at their current position and should be saved for the future, and it's already caused a mini-wildfire with the dissatisfaction of some players who don't care for those things being punished to wait a week for a new craftable ID.

Timing out players for a week is a horrendous approach. It's not that I personally mind it, but it's how the players feel in general, and if it would even do anything, as players will still just be sharding.

This is why some players are getting fed-up. they have the money to hire a few more people, specifically to help make skins / more announcers / other cosmetics / help de-bug the game and with optimization or other implementations that can help them generate more money, but they don't because " We need money for anime plz"
I'm going to touch on something here because it's understandable for many of the players already playing the game to not understand the likely reasons for the direction of creating media content such as 'animations, animated series' and so on. It's possible these are marketing ideas or suggestions they've garnered or maybe even given through their contact with Hypergryph. Especially since most of these things we've never heard an inkling of before being considered.

These are probably projects more aimed towards increasing traction and fresh blood to the franchise. Afterall, a big reason for Arknights spike in popularity has been increasing recognition to their other media projects and works; annual concerts, record label releases, animated series and animation releases.

While they may not be things anyone asked for, they're probably things that could potentially greatly help the growth of the franchise, and in turn it's financial gains. Not to mention, these are things they can outsource most of the hard labor for without putting more pressure on their actual development teams for the franchise. Things they may be able to do without taking away from their work on the games and other more personally managed media content.

Naturally, regardless if these are the case or not, these are still financial ventures and as such, risk is always involved as to whether they'll pan out favorably or not.

Btw GFL started as money-producing project for sequal of bakery girl..
Look what happened )
The hell is GFL. No seriously, what is that Bakery Girl?

Girls' Frontline, a Chinese turn-based mobile strategy game with gacha elements. It was the first "gacha" game I got hooked on, but eventually dropped it as it got more and more grindy. Funnily enough, I never even knew of Bakery Girl, so this is news to me.
I had to do 3 Normal MD Runs of 5 Freaking Floors for Less Rewards, i hated all of it.

Now to see if MD Hard gives Less Boxes too.

I hate all the Gacha Aspects of it.

I only care about the Cantos, Character Development and Possibly Interesting Events with more City Lore.

Players want content, Kim needs more employees to speed up the process of creating said content. Kim is not ready for an Anime, he needs to make more content for the game instead of trying to milk us of our money by enforcing headaches.

Arknights didn't actively push out high budget animations or advertisements during their early years. Their advertisements started out as low quality waifu bait or sometimes hilarious creations from outsourcing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG9sLsijPEI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXLEJHWWKIg

No, I don't want Kim to butcher his franchise with poor advertising. But he doesn't have to invest too much in an Anime to advertise a game that is still struggling to have content pushed at a regular basis while stuck in constant renovations of already existing content. Do CG like this, I barely see any advertisements for Limbus Company as I did for Arknights back then. How are people going to know about it except for the obnoxious fans that are mostly posers from Roblox.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxehQJ1T2W8

I actually would like to see Ads for Limbus Company in the same vein as those hilarious outsourced ones. They were my favorite and were the ones that originally hooked me to Arknights during the pandemic.

That will all come with time, I wasn't saying that they shouldn't do it at all.

The main premise of what I said was that they aren't ready for that yet.

They are pushing furniture into a room room that still doesn't even have a floor-board and it's making their job harder in the process.

I am asking for them. I want PM to be a multimedia franchise. Novels, comics, video games, music videos, ANIME

Frankly their monetization has been too f2p friendly for too long. I was wondering if they were even sufficiently making money. They can afford to have more paywalled content.
I'd be happy if they took a page from long running popular free-to-play games such as DOTA 2. Which has generous monetization, but not excessively so.

It's a generalization, not a statistical fact that not a single soul wants those things.

Lot's of people want PM to succeed and branch out. But it's not what they should be currently focusing on.

What the general audience is asking for currently, is improvements to the game. They should iron out what they already have before taking on more projects to keep them from going back and fourth so much.

How are you burnt out? Then again, I only play episodically when a new canto is done and finished, then wait until Walpurgis to do the smaller episodes. What's the rush? People are mad? I don't really go out of my way to look for it so I wouldn't know. Also Gregor is pretty great. Just felt like putting it out there for no reason.
None. Yes.

It's been 3 years between LCorp and LoR.
Limbus is almost 2 years old and it's not even close in terms of content (which is also questionable because limbus been all show no substance since canto 4) to this two games (if you don't count grind as content)
Considering their speed it will be canto 10 at best when game is 3 years old. Where the ♥♥♥♥ are they putting money from this game? Into reddit bots that shill the game?
New games. No.
