00 situation solution
I went back to play Arknights recently (lone trail is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good) and I could'nt help but compare the lower rarity characters design model.

For Limbus Company's 000 and 00, I think it's equal to Arknights 6 stars and 5 stars.

The characters in Arknights have skills to choose from, for 6 stars there are 3 skills, and 5 stars there are 2. For each character, player picks one and take them into the stage. The characters also have jobs, healer/tank/etc...

So one strong idea of character design in Arknights is that,
5 stars can do their job thing very well, and their unique skill sometimes even do what 6 stars can't, making powercreeps difficult to happen.
But 6 stars either can do their job thing extraordinary well, or do their job or even another job's work great, so you raise one of 6 stars and can use them in multiple different situations.


Can this be translated into Limbus Company too? I think one major problem is that 00s usually can't even clash in latest stages, and in this game clash decides you do damage or completely 0.

Clash should be possible if we raised 00s well, feeding them exp tickets and met the stage recommendation. Now most of them can't even clash when overleveled.

I also kinda want to see that,

00: does either big damage, or good potency/counts
000: can do big damage while providing potency/counts, or have some really quirky gimmick to provide a different gameplay experience.

Priest Gregor is fun to me because I need to keep him alive, not straightforward big numbers all the way, and that kind of experience. what shines the most in this game. I also want to see Sancho takes off her boots and her feet sticks like pastes on my screen. Please Sancho I need to lick them

uh, hate to break it to you, but Arknights is rife with new operators that power-creep the niche uses of others into oblivion. most limited banners obsolete everything else in their archetype most obviously.
Arknights also has counter-rarity value built into the core of the game as a result of the deployment costs, a mechanic that Limbus just doesn't have an analogue for, so there's absolutely no downside to using 000 IDs over 00 competitors unless they offer something that can't be replicated. As a result, even if they do one thing well, you're carting about a liability when you could have an asset, or an empty slot to make a good ID work better.
Starbuck Yi Sang is potentially very powerful and fun, doesn't make him contribute better than empty space.
