I feel like the old IDs into skins idea is a bit ambitious
I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I love the idea since I'd love to use Mariachi Sinclair again, but how are the cosmetic IDs going to work visually when the chosen sprites doesn't have, lets say an evade ID using defense? Or better yet, a lot of IDs nowadays have gimmicks, like Rodion and her bloodthorn visual or Wildhunt and the dullahan. Are old (and new) sprites getting updated to fit in with the gimmicks or are we only able to play with what the old sprites offer?

An easier idea would probably introduce alternative recolors to existing IDs and making skins based on what the IDs are actually based on, so you can turn Wildhunt into Erlking, Grip Faust into Kromer and Lobotomy Corp. Remnant Faust into Yuri.

Taking my best guesses here

They'll just use their evade sprites instead of defense, even if it looks kinda goofy. I noticed this when Tingtang Hong Lu or Lobcorp Remnant Faust are doing their clash sprite which usually uses a defense sprite, so I assume it'll be the same for when they're used as skins.

Likely going to be having regular sprites, as the special visuals are there to accentuate the status effects. Maybe effects like the auras from Coffin and whatever could still be around, but no one's going to be mounting horses or putting on masks.

Ah, I guess that would make sense.

Darn, but it would be so funny to have potential man hijack Wildhunt's horse.

Better, see 7 Heath AOE everyone with his S2 when equipped on WH Heath.

Actually every ID in the game has a blocking sprite and an evade sprite unique to them. One of the reasons the clashing animation was reworked was so that they could show off the sprites that aren't normally used in-game. Ring Yi Sang's evade has him holding a finger up like he's looking at the attacker like a subject for art, for example.

It was deemed a necessity because there are some attacks in game (KQE's main mechanic for example) that result in a visual dodge/block when winning the clash against them.

Sorry, I must have messed up my explanation
Most IDs have both block and evade sprites, but some of them have only evade sprites, so that is used in place of a block sprite
For example, Remnant Faust and Tingtang Hong Lu don't have block sprites, so they just use the evade ones when "blocking"

That would definitely be fun to watch

Oh! Sloshmael being used as a proper functioning tremor tank (Zwei Ishmael)

Oh, well, I guess that fixes the issue with defend/evade sprites. So I guess it is all about the ID gimmick issues.

Yeah, especially with the increasing amount of more than 4 skill ids.

They use whatever they have.

Latter. No. They're not getting updated. Yes. We're only able to play with it.

All I know is, if they are going to try it, it will be buggy as hell at first, so we will be swimming in apology lunacy.

don't get your hopes up, it was outlined as a long term goal so it's likely to be extensively tested.
