How are you meant to defeat the final boss (Canto 7)?

How do you defeat the Ferris Wheel Don Quixote?

I get past the pointless gondola phase, then the very first turn, he one shots the entire team?

There's nothing you can do? Is it scripted that you are meant to lose your team to one massive hit the first turn?

It doesn't make any sense?

Then if you are left with lone Don Quixote, you end up getting staggered by the bloodfields then pummelled by the gondolas when staggered, there's nothing you can do?

the ferris wheel attacks do little to no damage to defending targets, it's right there in the skill description.

If you are staggered you cannot evade.

I mean it really just depends on the degree you want to engage with the boss, it's entirely reasonable to do the boss with a full chain battle but if you just want to get past it most Don Quixote IDs can solo it without much issue. Easily if it's any of the ones with an evade.

I actually ended up doing a combination of both, in around the back half of the fight it came down to just Don Quixote and she soloed it from there.

I found out there is only way to win this. To use a single Don and Cheese and just use evades on the blood coin skills... very disappointing.

I beat it without using solo Don, so no, it's not the only way.

Definitely not true, it's a hard fight but you can do it as a chain battle. The only somewhat hard part is doing enough damage to Don to get him past phase 2 as quickly as possible.

You can expect even casualties among long-time veterans when they go for the Chain Battle approach, typically atleast 6-8 of the 12 Sinners, by the time you beat him.

Dude throws around cheap unbreakable unavoidable AOEs like they're candy at halloween. All you can really do is minimize the damage by whatever means available while also chipping at his HP.

- Bringing 000 IDs with competent rolls help (generally like ??/16/17 or better when rounding them up as S1/S2/S3). Not sure if plenty of pierce resistance helps, either.

- Try to have someone clash the Unbreakable AOE coins and have the rest dodge/block (if needed), atleast for big/notable attacks. Defeated coins can only roll for +1 power (so, it becomes base power + [total coins] at worst, if he rolls positive).

-Don can't die unless she's alone (I assume), abuse the hell out of that. Have her clash the AOEs, most likely. She also gets some clash power-ups and other story-buffs.

- Healing E.G.O's help if you got any (Sinclair's tree thing, Faust's Fluid Sac, etc).

- Some suggest doing Solo Don with an Evade ID (W-Corp ID or Cinq sound nice). Some also suggest intentionally getting staggered by Gondolas in phase 1 to lose a stagger bar, her story buffs should let her recuperate health as she fights, then just dodge on slot 1 (so it triggers first), and clash on the rest?

Not sure what else one can suggest, it still really could use a nerf if even "pros" have a rough time with it (when not cheesing it via solo).

Literally even if you only have 1 other sinner survive the Impaling spikes phase you can still win since the fight gets significantly easier. That phase is very rough since he just constantly uses aoe unbreakables that apply lots of bleed and count (which can be worsened by the whip gift some people acquire that gives 10 bleed). Due to the combination of gifts the dungeon gives you, you get some sustain since the nail applies bleed and the star gives you healing when hitting bleeding targets. (Also a tip you can use yisang base ego, or meursault base ego to make unbreakable AoE's much less scary, you can also bench bloodfiend hunter hong lu to help get rid of bleed count on your sinners).

Father Don also caps out his bloodfeast at 999 so if you survive till then (usually happens some time in phase 2) then his clash power gets much lower since he can't use up the bloodfeast for conditionals.

Watched a friend do it with a ragtag half built team, they made several mistakes and it was down to just 1 hp WDon and a 20 health 2 coffin wildhunt heathcliff and they still managed it for every phase after the Impale one. (Truly you just have to believe despite the odds)

I'm still not feeling it. Tried many many times with single W-don. Sometimes, even if you win the coin clash on evades, you still get hit and eventually get staggered (when evading the blood infused attacks). I just don't get it.
Chains of others spam? Fight not that difficult, it's just annoying because unbreakable coins.

Evade activates if Skill in Skill Slot that it targets is used.

So make it targets Skill Slot with highest Speed. If there're many, make it targets leftmost Skill Slot. Use 2 Evades to be very safe.
