Feels like all of the responses in here can go for every other person in earth and not only LGBT people. In my opinion its because the game just has well written characters from classic litterature, and therefore relatable to many, just like the books. Not just a specific community.
This place isn't the only place I heard about this topic. So I guess it's because the LGBT people are the most loud ones on the internet, many western fans just enjoy the game on their own.

I'm lesbian myself and I find it annoying as ♥♥♥♥. Representation shouldn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ matter unless you want to bring in a etc character who is written well and not just some adult that behaves like some angsty kid in their 20s. It does nothing but portray who they're representing in a bad light. I can bring an example in limbus who is gay and nobody really has a issue with it and like her as a character. But she doesn't parade it around. It's Ishmael and it's subtle with her relationship and Queequeg.

Honestly, the only loud ones are just either children or obnoxious adults. They're a small minority. Nobody on the internet cares about what they do or want. And it's not even western too. It's Eastern Europe too.

And that same representation made sure it got canceled to hell and back. And you can still live because you can pretend it doesn't exist. Even in canon. That same representation is the same reason why some people despise if some media is just bun and no meat.

Yeah I did. And there is character appearances. That's literally fanservice. It's not sexual but a character coming back in a canto from previous pm content is enough to make someone make a stadium cheer
