3 star duplicate

Just completed refraction railway 3 (was procrastinating ardor star blossom and onward) and used the guaranteed 3 star ticket to get a duplicate pirate Gregor. I am in agony (I'll get over it).

Welcome to the club. I ended up getting Ahab Ishmael as my duplicates for both gauranteed 3 star tickets (from BP and RR3). I'm still missing Middle Don

Yeah. Those tickets are basically just free 50 Shards for a random ID.

No way that halfway through the season one can get a new ID with it, when the odds are less then 50% with all the new IDs they've extracted/dispensed.

But hey, if you make sure to not use it UNTIL the season is over, the shards you get from it won't be halved and you get the full amount (until they remember to force us to auto-use the tickets on season-switch and then half the rewards for them, because why have nice things).

So if I had finished rr3 and used the ticket during the season, I would've gotten 100 gregor shards. I was thinking that 50 shards was a bit low at the time. Much appreciated for the info.

No you still would have gotten 50 shards if you used it in season 3, but because of the way seasons work, or rather, how they end, those 50 shards would have turned into 25 Gregor shards upon the end of Season 3, and the remaining 25 would have converted to thread. For this reason, unless you have had really bad luck with banners and are missing a bunch of the Seasonal ID's, it is always better to hold onto the guaranteed 3 star tickets if you get it late in the season, and use it at the start of the new season to get 50 shards of the pulled duplicate. Hope that makes sense.
