Yes. It's recommended. You should. All Starter Buffs aren't needed though.

Eh, you'd be doing fine with 40-43 on ut4 if your team has good sinergy.

it's NOT about the level only, unlock mirror dungeon stater buff :

1. unlock eye of storm
2. thunther then unlock the starter gift, charge, rupture, tremor, bleed, poise, sinking. by pressing the small dots. ( you can pick and choose E.G.O Gift you want ).
3. black wind and the 3 slash, piercing, blunt gift.
4. fair wind and the 3 starter 50 cost.
5. sheepback cloud and the 4 -7.5% enchant cost.
6. unlock more packs, unlock more hi tier E.G.O Gift.

If you want mirror dungeon very fun, not grindy & hard become not hard.

i have very funny story with my friends he unlock starter buff, but never know there a branch each have small dots to unlock more stuff, he not doing that because he never know can click those SMALL DOTS to unlock actual stuff inside.

do not unlock the big dots only, those are only category the content you need to unlock manually.

Your ID's don't have to be maxed, however, the lower your level, the more you would have to know what you are doing with what ego gifts you are going for to be able to compete in later floors.

Hm, I wonder my own approach will be enough to deal with the absolute hyper garbage BS that Hard Mode will expect me to compete with, was thinking of simply going the "Bloody Mist" approach again:

Floor 1: Get Rusted Muzzle
Floor 2: Get Smoke & Wires
Floor 3+: At start, Fuse them. Finally have a fighting chance.
Team: Pequod Ishmael & Heathcliff, Hook Hong Lu, R-Meursault, Twinhook Gregor, Middle-Don.
Starting Gift(s): Wound Cerid. (I'm not complaining we're getting this on the start, bleed is utterly worthless until Gifts let you stack it high, and HP is bloated AF.)

So far the buffs (either obtained or planned for near future) are...
Upper path: Thunder [+Bleed], Biting Wind [Disabled], Fair Wind, Cascade of Levin [Disabled], Gathering Storm.
Left path: Night Rain, Feast of Lightning, Impending Thunder, Hazy Mist, Iterant Rain.
Right path: Ringing of New Years eve, Faint Evenfalll. Might eventually reach final for +1 Gifts in store.
Bottom path: Sheepback Clouds, Grand Sea of Clouds.

The only focus thus far is to maximize getting said Gifts from Floors or Shops, deliberately disabling weaker gifts from appearing to increase odds. It's not too bad right now with 4 floors, upping it to 5 should give me reasonable odds to get it from atleast 1 in 10 floors (x2 5 due to reroll).
