Well, lets think of if this way. Xiao manifested E.G.O because she overcame her emotions and took control of them, if she hadn't, she would have distorted.

Heathcliff distorted because he succumbed to them. After beating him up, he just kind of just went, "well, it is what it is". instead of overcoming it. This was why he came back to normal after distorting, he just stopped letting the thoughts consuming him.

Later, when he found out about cathy's true feelings, it was a load of his back. a revelation sort of speaking. This would be equal to having Lowell come out along side the rest of the lui association saying stuff like "hey we are okay actually, let's stop and go home" for xiao in midst of her transformation.

It's pretty straight forward, his burden that was the cause simply disappeared. He didn't succumb or take control over it.

Because "HE" decided to distort instead of overcoming his Traumas. He was too weak in the First Place. It was only due to Dante and the other Sinners that he grew up a little more in the End.

All the Sinner's Stories have been left on a Cliffhanger, they are not finished yet.

Sinners like Rodion only got a minor Introduction to their Stories.

Sinclair not knowing what Damian and "The Mysterious Group" has in store for him and the other Sinners.

Yi Sang has to face all his "Old Friends" and Gubo.

Ahab is still Alive and will become another one of Hermann's Experiments.

Cliff swore to get Cathy back ( whatever "fixing" that means ) and Nelly Escape.

Fanboys don't know what P.M. can do or not with their own Story and World Building and that's just how it should be to keep it Fresh.

No one expected the "Vergilius" intervention for example. At least not this early in the Story.

I don't really count this as his TRUE ego considering not only is it unequippable implying it's more though Dante's power than their own, but it also doesn't have literally any of the same flair as every other true ego we've seen seen so far. Both it's not sustained for any period of time, and based on Erlking Heathcliff and what's implied about wolf knight's heathcliff there's more to it than just a big sack to beat people with.

Though I do agree with some others here. Manifesting ego means getting over yourself despite the fact you're about to distort. If you've read Vergilious's story, you'd know we get a first hand account of what this moment looks like from the person's perspective. Heathcliff definitely wasn't that, they gave up and returned back to human after. The closest they came to manifesting an ego was when the entire world changed to that graveyard during their prolonged attack against their other self. A part of me WISHES he'd manifest, but one new mechanic/toy at a time I guess. We got new powers to help us in future boss fights assuming they start increasing the number of activations some time soon. Right now I never want to use them because no only do I not get to use another for the rest of battle, I don't get to use another for the rest of the day.

It is a possibility down the Line when the Sinner Powercreep enters Color Fixer Levels with Aleph Egos or some Specific Event in the Story. I also have a hunch about Vergilius sacrificing himself in the Future. He doesn't seem the kind of Character that would be getting a Happy Ending ever.

You don't get your full EGO until you overcome your trauma. Fully, completely overcome it.

Heathcliff didn't. He's close, but he's not there. He hasn't let go yet.

You don't seem to understand what Effloresced EGO is.

It's what Vergilius used when he transformed mid-fight.

An Effloresced EGO is massively powerful, but it can only be achieved when the user themselves, without any external influence, overcomes their trauma. Which Heathcliff didn't.

It's also permanent. It can be used nearly without limit. It's not like our current EGOs which can only be used for 1-2 attacks.
