“Q: Are you going to include voice-overs in other languages for your games?
A: There are no plans for that right now. Due to the nature of the world, a chara can reappear years after they first show up, so we need to be particularly careful when it comes to choosing voice actors. And unlike voice actors in our native tongue whose direction we can comment on, it’s difficult for us to get involved in the production for other languages, not to mention that we have little information on the foreign VA scene. Still, we’d like to have a go at it if we get the proper opportunity”.
This is from 2+ years ago but this reason may or may not still hold true today.
edit: although Library of Ruina Switch did get jp dubbing so maybe there's hope for Limbus or future PM games to get dubbing in other languages too.
Only From and Kojima know how to do proper translation and pick good voice actors.
Screw british cheap voice actors btw. FF XVI did not need them
FF XV eng dub is so cringe and censored, that Russian dub( and translation) is closing to original than eng lmao
I'd rather put the blame into the voice directors that don't even try at all most of the time and most animes' en dubs get ruined because of bad voice direction especially ones that try to imitate the Japanese way of voice acting only to turn out cringe.
And let's not mention the main concern, on why they are abit iffy on foreign dubbing, it's because of the fact they cannot have an input on what's going on that dub's voice acting because they lack the knowledge on the language.
Korean and Japanese voice acting is also kinda cringe if they lack good voice directing btw.
Besides Korean voice acting are amazing, I doubt ENG VA are capable of expressing so much emotion in a game like this.
