Who the hell thought piercing thrust was a good move?

Waiter! Waiter! I need for my pierce resistant character to go from 141 hp to dead because an enemy can easily roll 5 heads at 0 sanity yet all sinners roll tails on max sanity!!!
Seriously tho heart of the whale sucks. I see no way to beat this other than waste boxes to get MB Fixer Ish and one trick it (which with my luck won't happen)

Ring Sang - UT 3, level 40. Sunshower (2) & Bygone days (1) (I will not be listing base egos cuz everyone has em)
NFaust - UT 3, Level 33. Fluid Sac (2). I also have Butler Faust (UT 3 lvl 30)
Cinq Don - UT 3 lvl 30. Electric Screaming (2)
LCCB Ryo - UT 2 lvl 28. Red eyes (2)
WMersault - UT 3 lvl 29. Electric Sceaming (1)
Hook Lu - UT 3 Level 32. Cavernous Wailing (2)
Oufi Heathcliff - UT 3 lvl 28. Binds (1)
Butler Ish - UT 3 lvl 30 (But the item in 5-36 makes ish UT 4 lvl 40 iirc). Wingbeat (gamblecore sim) (3), Blind Obsession (2). I also have Liu and LCCB too, with both being lvl 1 and ut 1
NRodion - UT3 lvl 30. Sanguine (2)
NClair - UT 3 lvl 32. I also have Dawn Office (lvl 31 UT 3). Oh and Cavernous wailing (1)
Ring Outis - UT 3 lvl 32. Binds (2). I also have G corp (ut2) and cinq (ut1)
and I have base gregor in my party for the passive, but I also have Liu (lvl 14 UT1) and Edgar heir (UT1 lvl 24). I also have Bygone days (1) too.

Sorry for the sheer amount of posts, this game just has more rapid diff spikes than ruina to me :/

Yeah Pequod trio is a bit of a pain, might be one of the hardest fights in the game. If you'd like I could walk you through the fight a bit, I've coached like 8 other people on it since its a bit of a wall.

Usually you'll want to kill starbuck first, on turn 2 ahab marks the person she targets and you gotta make sure they have an evade or are very tanky to piercing etc.

When Starbuck is dead focus on staggering Queequeg or deactivating assist defense to kill Ahab since the fight will immediately end when she dies (keep in mind she heals at half hp and quee heals when she hits 0 hp)

I can get starbuck down, but queequeg is being rather a pain. I know I can use guard to offset counter, and even when I do it on the highest speed sinner to offset it (and making them the last to touch the counter), another sinner somehow sets it off. It makes no sense, that and I cant find a way to get the targeted sinner(s) to avoid ahab's attacks during that phase either (do I use sinclair cavernous to get the bubble shield and get the targetted sinners to use defense skill). All of this fight screams to me "waste your shards on sinclair lantern to pair with NClair so he distorts and targets only ahab or wait next season and make a BL team with 'Nah, I'd lose' Mersault"

K Corp Hong Lu could tank the heat death of the universe and walk it off as if it was a small hail ball.
That and I reaaaaally don't want to use all of my current nomiable boxes (130) on hong lu shards (I have 100 shards rn)

You don't have to shard him, you can just borrow him from someone.

Alternatively you can try to level W Meursault up a bit, and he can tank Ahab since he's pierce/pride resistant. Use Chain of Others turn 2 to debuff Ahab + give Meursault protection next turn.

Ah, yeah W meursault may be a good idea. He generates pride, gloom, and envy, just what I need for blind obsession and fluid sac spam. Besides, I have electric screaming on him, which, at the lowest, still wins against the BS known as Piercing thrust

Counter skills are the only defense skills that actually can't be offset, and they activate against the first attacker no matter who it is, so you just have to eat it if you fail to stagger

If you want to use a defensive skill against Ahab, you need to make sure Starbuck is still alive. He will likely outspeed Ahab.
Then, have the marked sinner use a defense skill against one of Starbuck's skills. If the targeted skill activates, then the sinner's defense skill will activate. If this is an evade skill, it can carry over to Ahab.

frankly, i used k corp hong lu to just eat the hits because i am not having any sinners survive that barrage and my luck is just terrible with evades

Dang it, well that leaves an issue. Idk how to get the evade to work on the targetted sinner, unless I need to clash to have the status of being targeted apply to mersault.
Or I can just support a k corp lu and combine it with the new bubbleshield thing to make the most of it.
