Can you actually get everything for free?

You buy identities with shards, but you only get shards from the battle pass right? And at lvl 150 it stops, so how? Does mirror dungeon hard also drop shards or something?

The BP has overflow rewards, every extra level past the cap gives 1 yellow crate or 3 with the paid BP. getting everything for free is technically possible, but the grind will be painful without buying the BP upgrade

Welp, I suppose it was already answered, but to sum it up what kind of content is available...
IDs: Free* [Units you fight with]
E.G.O: Free* [Special attacks, basically, rarely necessary, but useful]
Announcer: Free/Paid** [cosmetic]
Banners/Etc: Free/Paid*** [cosmetic]

*...For now. I would not be surprised if pass-only/paid IDs or E.G.O become a thing one day. The grind will be awful without a season pass, however. Without one, it's 1 per EX level-up, with it, it's 3 per EX level-up.

What you get from EX level-ups are "shard boxes". Get about 75 or 200 of them to obtain a 00 or 000 ID respectively (which cost 150 or 400 shards). They drop 1-3 shards, so the average is 2, which means get half of them what the cost is. E.G.O's cost 400 shards.

** Announcers are either given via events, in the free portion of the season pass, in the paid portion, and few of them are only ever obtainable with real money via Paid Lunacy in the Dispenser. (Which makes no sense, greedy move doing that when they could atleast put them in the Paid Pass area.)

*** Basically, stuff for the profile. Sometimes comes with events, sometimes as a pass (free or paid) reward, and sometimes you can buy it with real money only (season pass extras or whatever they where).

Having missed events might force one to pay with real money to obtain Announcers that came from the free/paid season passes. Same for banner/profile stuff. Some events re-run, so you're able to get the announcers/etc from those for free, though (like Walpurgis).

(Arduously so, given how announcers have the droprate of E.G.O, but are not removed from the "drop pool" once obtained, so you end up with tons of duplicates.)

Daily stamina is about 130 (depending on level), with 2 refreshes it 390 stamina per day. 390 stamina = 19,5 modules. 136 modules a week = 27 MD runs = 81 or 243 (with paid BP) boxes.
Multiply by 2 to get egoshards:
162 shards for with free BP per week after 120 lvl
486 shards with paid BP per week after 120 lvl

You need 400 for ID/EGO.

I'm not sure if with free BP only you'll be able to buy *all* ID/EGO in a game in a reasonable amount of time considering you'll also miss 3 ego from paid BP or 1200 shards.

So I would recommend just buy paid BP, it's only $10 for like half a year, with paid BP you can shard new ID/EGO every week (if you grind all stamina and this is big if).

ps. I forgot to calculate weekly MD bonuses, so it should add huge chunk to free and paid BP egoshards income.

oh wow, so a "dead week" can mean getting a new 3* id. I guess PM really didn't fall to the gacha mindset after all, tho I'm still sad they didn't make a regular single player game.

Yes, but good luck doing it without the BP. Do yourself a favour kid and skip lunch a couple of times, get yourself enough lunacy for two BPs.

Without BP it is unreasonable and unrealistic, but still possible if you grind 24/7. With bp it is quite possible if luck is on yer side.

I'm here since day 1 and I got maybe 95% of the IDs, only missing the few that I feel are rather pointless to have. Still missing a bunch of the EGOs, but I boxed the important ones already. Didn't really grind beside completing events, and expending the daily/weekly bonuses.

Idk if it's possible to catch up anytime soon if you starts off recently, but the game is rather generous.
