Lobotomy: Gives insight into what happens in these giga corporations in the City
Ruina: Gives insight into the different people and stories around the City
Limbus: Gives insight into the different cultures, laws, and factions of the City while also being a roadtrip rather than a stationary location like in Lobo/Ruina
It's fun to play the games in almost any order and I've never had a friend complain aout doing them in the "wrong order". The games do a good job of not spoiling important plotpoints aside from some vague "endings".

Distortion Detective is set during Library of Ruina around when the Library was an Urban Legend, at least at the point before it was discontinued.
