So about Liu Faust and Yi Sang
I have a little theory a building up about what Liu's clan gimmick will be based on Rodion's story. At the very end of it, it talks about Liu having no back up plan for if their director or director or equivalent goes down in a fight and that we will see what that looks like in a future world.

I think Liu Faust, yi sang, and potentially others might have a bench gimmick to them. Where you leave them as stronger than usual supports and if certain conditions are met they actually replace another Liu on the team with a significant buff that lasts the rest of combat. I imagine such conditions including a Liu dying or falling under 25% HP primarily. It would be an interesting way to play into Liu's team work based theme and could make the bois a lot more useful if they functionally just become yugioh style sacrifice monsters to bring out a stronger Liu Don and Heathcliff.

Having units enter the battle midway through is a really cool idea, but i think there should be a different condition. You could just bring a level 1 Liu member and kill them on the first turn, which is too easy.

Maybe in the future PM will make a fight with this mechanic, but I doubt we'll see anything like this as part of an ID.

Tbh, if they went this route its likely all the Liu that that this condition would also significantly buff the Liu that don't with their support buff. The same way its 'easy' to lose with yield my flesh. It's honestly not an easy thing to achieve and for for example Liu Heathcliff's support passive was, "Liu gregor gains +1 coin power and +2 clash power, if he loses a clash with (his S3) and drops to 50% HP or lower then (section two of passive actives.)" It's absolutely possible, but it basically wouldn't happen outside of a challenging fight even if you enter at less than 50% HP.

PM has been very careful to not power creep support passives, so I doubt it.

Also this actually contradicts the story doesn't it? It says they have no backup plan, adding this would mean they actually do have a backup plan.

Hmm, well I guess that's true. A part of me wants to deny it because the current Liu Ids just... Don't feel particularly special or strong enough to justify the full team. Like, it's obvious they're weaker than most IDs of their same type. This was the case for BL, which they solved with Kimsault and his clan buffs. Rodion on paper LOOKs to achieve similar results, but unlike Kimsault she only increases their attack power by 1 and damage by 1. Her main addition to the team being she encourages wrath A-res which significantly boosts clash power.

It just feels like something is still missing, whether its a new ID or something locked behind Tier 5 I don't know.
