They're useful for new players, especially if there's commentary on why they've been placed the way they have since they can help give an idea of what qualities make something good or bad. I don't use them myself but they have their place.

What else someone who just getting started should rely on? I mean the majority of player-base still likely have no idea what bloody mist or lucky pouch even is not to mention how to get them.

And its probably not very helpful for a new player to build around something specific like md3 anyway. May as well start with something that can win clashes and deal damage first. These basic tier lists are alright for that.

While I like the Damage/status/tank split, it's a really bad list.
LCCB Ishmael being in SS... Look I get why they did it, it's true that LCCB Ishmael applies a lot of different status (rupture, tremor, damage down, paralysis ....) with a lot of potency for rupture/tremor
But as a unit she's miles worse than all the other units in SS, S, and A tier (and I'd almost say she's worse than every unit in B tier too). Because 1- She can't clash, and 2 she's too slow so she can't even apply paralysis/atk down before the rest of her team attacks more often than not. (yes 2-6 is too slow)

Then you have Liu Ishmael who ends up being in A tier because she's rated as a damage dealer (which is correct if you rate her with just her just based on the criterias for damage dealer), despite being arguably better than every single status ID (and she's better than every tank ID in S tier or below).

I wouldn't rely on tier list too much, most of the content can be cleared with a rag tag team.

Kinda the issue with that kind of tier-list, you get things like overrating LLB Ish due to the sheer mass of status she can apply, she inflicts the most numbers so she must be the highest tier, despite being a very mediocre unit in terms of actual performance.
Similarly Deici Rodion has her damage and status effects entirely neglected 'cause she's a tank and can't be anything else as a result.

All you need is good clashers and some sp+hp healing from EGO. That's what i'd recommend to the OP.

After that i'd pay attention to EGO resource creation and consumption. You don't want to end up in a situation when you have a strong EGO but not enough fuel for it.

You know you can click on the ID on that tierlist and most of the time there's an explanation to why it is in that position as well as the positives and negatives of using it.

that guide appears to predate the capstone gifts, so not only is it suggesting MD specific builds, they're outdated and in some cases (like the Burn team) wouldn't be able to trigger their Capstones.
Edit: Assuming bad recommendations being a result of a lack of information was wrong, Coupled Oscillation was brought up for the Tremor section, so they recommend a Burn team that can't activate Soothe The Dead and a Bleed team that can't trigger Bloody Mist was just bad recommendations.

I find the fusion gifts to be redundant outside of the power bonuses they offer. And i dont even need that to win a MD run.
