Have you considered setting them off with a Sinner that resists the attack type? 'cause that'll limit their damage extremely hard.
Only one fight so far in the game where doing this still meant good damage/stagger... and you ain't meant to win it. (Got it to half HP though!)
its wayward. have 2 strong counter. what if we met monster have multiple counter.

It'd be nicer if the attack had some sort of debuff to make the counter struggle to do full damage, like a paralyse (but not on -coin counter) or a power level down.
