Mirror of the Lake: Fusing EGO and giving them a Upgrade
So we have the drop on the 14th for mirror of the lake. They are changing it up quite alot as it seems.
The run down is that we are having progress reset, both mirror of begins and mirror of mirror are becoming one with this Mirror.
When you pick Starting IDs its all 12, while fights will only have a 6 norm, while certain fights having a different limit.
Now end rewards are based off of Floors cleared rather than nodes.
There are now only 4 floors.
We now pick a starting "buff" group when picking EGO gifts to start with.
It seems starlight will also be granted more, with using different gift starts, using 00 ranked IDs and using different IDs.
Also picking end of floor EGO gifts is what buffs the next floor.
Most keen is the shop now allows you to sell EGO gifts and refresh the shops options.

What is a big game changer is ability to fuse and upgrade EGO Gifts. With certain EGO only being able to be made using certain EGO.

With all this mixed in, Mirror of the Lake shall be a interesting spin up to mirror dungeons.

Honestly I think the most hype thing is that they start to encourage usage of different team setups and different rarities. Currently it's just for more cost/starlight, but I want to believe we will get some challenge content with stuff like "00 only" in a future.

It seems like a natural enough development on the current system, actually giving room to do reliable builds, with the interesting caveat that optimal Starlight gain will require mixing things up.
Bit of a shame Hard MD will be disappearing though.

You'll probably want the week to get used to the new system anyway. I was considering doing a hard mode run before the reset but honestly I'm curious how it'll go.

Judging by the notes the bonus rewards will be reset, so an early Hard run would be effectively an extra week's worth of bonus rewards, as long as I didn't read something extremely wrong.

Hmm, I don't think the difference between normal with bonuses and hard mode will be that much this time. It looks like this mirror dungeon is giving us an extra 15 for our troubles. So I think it'll play out just fine. I'll likely be running it 4 or 5 times since it's new and looks fun.

I wonder what the boss line ups will be. and maybe, different abno/focused fight)

It seems like they generally nerfing the speed one can accumulate bp exp doing normal dungeon runs. Before it took about 10 minutes to rush 3 floors with optimal setup and strong ego gift and it rewarded 24 bp exp with roughly translated into 120-130 bp exp per hour.

Now 3 floor rush will likely reward a lot less, 4 floor will likely take at least 20 minutes to clear, strong starting ego gifts are gone and it rewards team swapping and sub-optimal compositions over consistency of one strong team. It wont affect much hard dungeon because its still just clear and forget for half a hour once a week but yeah.. I hope you have that huge load of boxes ready because generating them may become a chore now.

Eh, if people are getting into efficiency farming then they'd probably care very little for massing Starlight, which seems to be the only purpose for the switching mechanics.

Swapping initial teams will provide higher starting cost, so you probably will always want to run at least 2 teams. But that's really not what makes it worse. Bad starting ego gifts, and floor reward changes do. And they didn't increase full clear reward either so unless 3 floor clear will still reward 24 or more bp exp it will be a nerf.

But yeah, rest bonuses will probably lose their point once starlight is capped.

The announced changes are quite nice, to see if it holds up in actual implementation. Able to influence EGO gifts for specific builds should really mesh well with the incentive to run different IDs. Once MD3H drops, I'll find if I still have a good enough roster to still run it weekly.

I suspect there will be a flat difficulty increase per-floor besides the EGO Gift enemy buff pick. Kinda like RR2 where you picked an enemy buff, but they also got a flat stat increase that was unavoidable.

Isn't hard md on the right from "bonus" tab?

Which means some of us need to farm lux stages to get a few units to lvl 40

Ok answering myself, they didn't actually nerf 3 floor reward, it still gives 24 bp.

It feels worse because new enemies are hp sponges and there is no good damage and speed buffs from starlight anymore (at least for now).

So I tested it a bit with different teams just to see what performs better. Stopped doing 4 floor after 3 runs because its a slog, so mostly for fast 3 floor clear.

First thing first, they kinda butchered nclair there. With constant 6 unit swapping and everything being so overleveled he skyrockets into positive sanity starting from floor 2 already even when out into the first slot. Meh.

1) So my general team which is a mix of sink and tremor. This one performs mostly as expected, can clear human encounters fast because sheer raw+ego power and has sink combos + tremor bursts against bosses. Doesn't really care much about gift direction I tried it with poise through nebulizer and with sinking gifts stacking and they all work fine.

2) Second was charge and it was also about as expected. Slow turn one, but good damage once it starts rolling. This one REALLY wants a rod as a starting gift, then upgrade it when available so ryushu can just open with her s3. This could be the one I will take for md3h run if they let you take the rod as a gift. Overall does pretty good.

3) Third was a bleed that I tried to push with both envy res and bleed stacking. Seems slower and it requires clashing to start rolling damage which is kinda.. meh. Envy res also needs more units to be good. Requires that red ant starting gift to work. Honestly, not impressed.

I don't really see much else now. Burn is garbage with nclair being barely usable and rupture has kinda meh units to bother.
