I didn't even notice that, well caught, I guess The Odyssey had a purpose.

There's also the possibility of rejuvenation treatments, which explains why Iori the Purple Tear is older than she looks. (e.g. older than Roland)

If you're doing a homebrewed D&D game, then why would the timing for that matter? It could have all happened in a day, it could have happened in a week, it could have happened over a month, it could have happened over a year. Does it matter? I guess I just don't get why this particular detail would be all that important for a D&D game.
