Are you playing on the Steam version, and are using a public non-passworded wifi? That might be the issue. It was for me anyway. Using passworded wifi or a cable made it work, so maybe it'll work for you, too.

i am using Ethernet but the Ethernet dosnt have a password, does it refuse to connect if its insecure?

That's quite possible, yeah. That's about the only theory I have, considering it seems I'm not the only one with this issue. Every now and then the topic pops up again.
(I assume by Eithernet you mean Wifi/Wireless? I never heard of passworded Cable Internet before.)

Hope it's something PM will actually bloody fix. I mean, c'mon, what if people wanna play at work/airports/abroad/cafe's/etc? People can't (and won't) buy if they can't play.

looks like you were right, looking at the log i have "
Curl error 60: Cert verify failed: UNITYTLS_X509VERIFY_FLAG_USER_ERROR1
close"

Ethernet cables do not require passwords to go online. I've also never run into this issue playing through an Ethernet connection, so I couldn't tell you why it's happening other than it's not Ethernet vs. WiFi.

Well, Wifi, Ethernet. All the same to me. I just see it as "wireless version" and "wired version" depending on the context provided. And of course one doesn't need a password for cable internet.
(Does make me curious if anyone ever did. Seems like a little bit extreme of a security measure. Something only a IT company might do. If possible at all.)

Well either way, that was the same error I got in my logs, yeah. Can only hope now that they'll fix it. A lot of people play this kinda game exactly to kill time in zones with password-less wifi.
