How worth it is turning shards into thread?

I feel like more than anything else, I end up wanting more thread. Only getting *4* 4!!! from a luxcavation sucks so bad. At the point in the pass that I am, there are literally no more thread rewards for me to get, so no more that way. But I DO see a bunch more shard rewards. 1 shard for 1 thread seems to me to be a decent deal. Is this actually really stupid and I'm wasting my shards? I have a decent set of 00 and 000 identities, but there's definitely still some others I want to pick up, that it might be worth hoarding shards for..... but then I'll need to uptie *them* too so the cycle never really ends. So all in all is there anything I'm missing here or overlooking in terms of getting thread and the usefulness of shards, or is it okay for me to turn shards into thread?

yes. why ? unlock strong skill 3 + passive + increase stats.

a must than having bunch of useless untied tier 1.

sinners have 3 skills if you not unlock them to tier 3 they are useless.

have 00 hong lu ? 000 hong lu ? lccb ishmael ? LCCB Rodeon ? 000 gregor, 000 meursault other 000 ? make them tier 3 right away.

ofc only unlock sinners that you need. " never unlock any shi section 5 series they bad ".

just keep 1 type of shards that you need to get the character you want. for example keep gregor shard to get 000 G Corp gregor or incoming 000 N corp Faust so keep faust shard.

Why are you saying 4? You get 6 from the thread luxcavation.
As long as there is no difficult content that you can't clear with your current setup there is no reason for you to turn your egoshards into threads. And by the time such content is added you'll have plenty of threads.
For now with base units and threads obtained from the pass you have more than enough to tackle everything.

Its no doubt that shard is more valuable than thread.
but personally i think If you have planned for a strong team or focus on certain unit.
Its okay to convert some shard into thread.

Note that shard's goal is to convert 400 shards into a guarantee before the season end.
As you probaly able to do 4 at most (unless you are heavily grind).

You might just keep your target prisoner(s) shard and convert the rest.

6 with bonus, 4 without bonus

I must be going insane because I would SWEAR that I'm getting 4 with a "bonus". I don't trust my own memory for these things but I'm next to certain that this is what I'm getting, and I've not been running it without the bonus because it barely felt worth it in the first place... Perhaps its just bad at conveying that I got the bonus, but I distinctly remember getting thread from it and going "oh that 4 was enough". I guess I'm going off on a tangent here thats besides the point and its not like there's really anything I can do about it but.

but usually most people treat lv30 stage as standard.
Never do lv20 unless for first time clear reward

I turn anyone i don't really care to use into thread.

It's big worth. Now if you like everyone equally in gameplay just to stare at there designs then you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. lol

But if there's even 1 person you don't care to use then just turn all there fragments into thread. I turn all my Gregory, Meursault and Heath into thread. (But that's cause i had every Meur and Greg before the new Meur) Gave me a nice 11 tier 3 Identities.

This is just additional if you don't know
farming mirror dungeon give BP exp which could give you some thread from BP reward
(and more if youre buying BP pass)
The reward come in box which you have to manually open it in the bag

depends on what you value more; having strong units, or potentially being able to get extra units eventually. the cost for one 3* or EGO is enough to fully uptie four 3* IDs, so it's very heavily dependant on your priorities. If you're the kind that want to have everything then turning them to thread is unwise, but if you only care about a small-ish number of characters and carefully save your Lunacy to maximise your chances then Dispensing won't have much value to you; especially for characters you don't like
