Meursault Beat Hurtily EGO

I need everyones opinion on this for those who can spare a couple seconds.

The Opinion in question is "Should you uptie 3 this EGO?".

From where im standing its a no brainer to uptie every EGO we get because of the base value increase which matters alot for clashes and damage.
BUT the elephant in the room for me is the Surgery Stacks.

Surgery: Die when Count reaches 5. Reduce Max HP by 20% (per Count). Deal 20% (per Count) more damage. At the start of the turn, gain Haste by the effect's Count.

While all of that sounds amazing im more worried about longer fights or dungeons since, by going by the logic of the game, after every fight you'd just lose that 20% until you heal again. I would compare it to Fervent Beats from Library of Ruina but I feel like while maybe fundamentally the same, they are still different enough not to.

Im completely aware that having uptie 3 just to use it once for the buff is perfectly viable and probably ideal but in a game where 1 failed coin toss can mean the end for your unit that Max HP is looking mighty juicy.

Definitely not unless they introduce an Identity that Resurrects itself per Fight. It's also impossible to Farm Thread atm so no one Smart enough is leveling Egos atm.

I wouldn't recommend to uptie 3 any egos right now, unless you're whaling hard (coin values on them rarely matter, the base values at t1 are already far beyond of what enemies can have). Just doesn't worth it. t2 already unlocks its passive, seems more than enough for now with how limited thread supply is.

Idk, if you have shards to spare. Sounds useful on based Meursault, where he has a ton of HP but very slow speed and his 1 and 3 skill deal puny damage. I usually upti every EGO once and then see how it goes, whether I can use it comfortably.

I usually only uptie EGOs once. Might fully uptie the EGO if I have a team that can easily support it, otherwise no point. Especially if you can't consistently get the resources to use that EGO

The question wasnt about uptying EGOs in general as i already have most of my EGOs at uptie 3 anyways, it was about that specific EGO and whether or not that 3rd Uptie would harm its viability

I'm not sure if 4th Match Flame Yi-Sang is bugged but he gains no stats when you uptie 3, just an extra 2 burn... which makes it feel reeeeally bad to use since its a 12-24 for 7 resources and 3 AoE

uptied to 2 just so i can check uptie 3, he gets nothing but extra burn and he might just actually get worse stats unless im tripping.

His zayn ego is kind of meh. It adds burn, but eats ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of resources, and unless you can't spam it constantly it's a bummer.

surgery is an interesting gimick, its increased speed and damage is extremely good, and most fights will end before you hit 5, even if your spamming it, so long as your not fighting enemies that are very resistant to blunt

I think both paid BP? I'd have to check for specifics and it's down atm.
