What Do you Guys think About Sinking Status Effect ?
From all Status Effect Only Sinking that has Identity Crisis. When hit by an attack, take fixed SP damage by the effect’s Potency. (Abnormalities take Gloom damage instead.) Then, reduce its Count by 1.

If Give Debuff To Abnormality, it deal damage GLoom Damage, Your Gloom GO BOOM.

If Human Fight It Deal Sanity Damage make enemies reach Red Sanity Faster.

Since Project Moon Said Abno Has Hidden Sanity Stats does that Mean, It actually does both Sanity Damage and Gloom Damage Boost ?

it sucks balls
Sinking can't really be analysed because it basically doesn't exist. with some decent sources it could ruin human opponents with perma-paralyse, but it isn't a real status effect so it doesn't matter.

I think they were referring to how Sinking would effect Abnos when they had the hidden SP system, though it's a moot point because Abnos having SP at all was a bug that got fixed months ago, so they'll just take the Gloom damage
Just like Rupture and basically every other status in the game except Bleed, it needs more units to support stacking it.

Sinking would be really good by then mainly because Rimeshank straight up has a mini Chain of Others effect as a passive. Unfortunately that passive is almost impossible to trigger because we only have 1 unit that can actually stack sinking (R Ishmael's +3 sink count) but even that is unreliable outside of just using her solo.

Sinking is a complete failure as a status effect by design. Even PM are aware of how little Sinking is used since all of the current sources of it have by far the lowest performance compared to other EGOs or IDs. SP changes don't help Sinking either as it ends up lowering the actual power of losing an SP point and the gloom damage that Sinking does to abnos is nonexistant.

I have said many things about IDs and EGOs in terms of design, but Sinking is the one status effect I feel actually needs a rework and not simply have synergistic IDs or EGOs to make it work.
They should reintroduce the smoke status, have smoke replace sinking, and replace the IDs and Abnos that use Sinking with versions that smoke that dank icky sticky, and have a 3.9 chapter event about all the characters getting blitzed.
Consider we had a group all about helping bleed through nail and other effects, we might at some point get a group with a focus on sinking. Right now its so weak that when people talk about statuses they don't even mention sinking. My guess is chapter 4 might have give us a gloom sinker that cares about sinking stacks.
For my option on it, lowering SP on human bosses can be quite useful, to stop such good clashes. Chapter two with pre-nerfed, Jefe de Los Mariachis could be bested well with the boss having low SP quickly.

Poise may be super inconsistent, but at the very least it actually does SOMETHING at the end of it. It's almost impossible to tell if Sinking is even having an effect on enemies since their are literally no synergies for it and you are still victim to RNG when it comes to its effect on humans (worse still, Paralysis literally does everything Sinking does but better, so does Coin Drop).

I mean the spoiler shows The fox with a umbrella, which means Sloth EGO, we also have iron bull but thats about it, no info yet. Though we did get a look at the new enemies that which judging by the weapons could be rupture or tremor, but we don't know if there will be more enemy types.
My main guess comes from that Its Yi Sang's chapter and season 2 to me kinda teased more a gloomy feeling that I feel sinking is linked too.
