Strange Game files
Why does a downloaded game, for which I expect that the files will be on the disk I need, in the steam folder, download files TWICE as large in size to my main disk?

I specifically download games to another drive because there is more space, so why can't I change the location of these "Additional" files that weigh 2 times more than the game itself according to the inscription in the Steam ?!

not strange game files, the game download the files in temporary %temp% folder first then complete download replace the game with new one you download.

first time ?

Google, Mega, or even AMD driver installer do that thing too. idk why but I am starting to think it's a universal thing?
Cleaning up C drive because I want to install something in D drive feels so stupid but I still couldn't find way to fix that.

Limbus Company uses in-game downloading instead of Steam downloading, I'd guess they're using their own download procedure. Which means that considering access privilege and things that might make the downloading fail, C drive is always the safest to save temp files and then later copy them to real directory.

That makes me wonder what trick did Steam use though.

This is not temp files... i deleted them as i thought so too, but they are not. Even if steam tells you that the game located in the steam foilder, most of the files not. I just don't understand why can't they just put them in the main folder...

The funny part that they are not temp files... If you clean them the game will ask to redownload them again...

Effectively the game is reinstalling itself since it's using a particular format that inserts new content directly into the main directory. This allows for the game to be easier to update into other consoles like mobile phones and such, however as a result it will in turn force you to effectively reinstall the game in order for the updates to actually kick in (devs confirm it as well with the resource package specifically saying "Downloading Update" when it's adding the actual updated content into the game).

You aren't actually downloading 2 gigs for every update, you are reinstalling it with every update.

Ok, i understand that, know a lot of games like that. But my question is, Why do they do that in another folder? Like, the main point of choosing the directory of the game files is to keep the game where it's coftortable for the player. I chose to keep them in the steam directory not just because, but for the reason
