Defensive skill talk
with Up 4 exist. now you can generate ego resource when you defending. so i need some team building for it.

so i ask few question :

1. which skill / support / passive that heal sinner that get hit.
2. which ego that hurt enemy less. but heal your sinner.
3. which good ID that heal your team without killing enemy and low damage rating.

you can generally make infinite resource with this

Defenses only really trigger or give you resources if they're actually activated, but uh... Honestly? In every mode you might want the resources you already get plenty, and almost all others have a time constraint that can occasionally be rather difficult to EX on. We don't really have a mode that promotes remaining in 1 scene a particularly long time besides some early N-corp fights because rushing to scene 2 means you're eating a lot of attacks, and even then if you're actually still EXing those you likely don't have the resources for any UT4 outside of doing a bit of a whaling.

To answer you questions though. K-corp Hong Lu, his new ego, Faust's version of fluid sac, Gregor's legardman and to a lesser degree his starter ego, Chef and Saus chef, and N-corp Mausalt's S3 can all heal sinners in some way or another. Additionally in the only mode you need infinite resources, there are a number of ego gifts that can provide conditional regeneration as well.

As far as attacks that do minimal damage? Not really something I've looked into, but at lot of S1s are what you want.

the key thing to remember about infinite sustain set-ups with defensive skills is that basically any situation where your sustain options can outpace the incoming damage are easy enough that you're just wasting a comical amount of time achieving nothing much. it's theoretically useful in MD2H in the rare edge case where you don't get any EGO generating gifts, but even then it's an extremely painful way to stretch your resources and the time spent sand-bagging will never be worth the extra BPEXP from finishing a run compared to making it to floor 5.

Defensive skills aren't worth considering when building a team unless you're doing solo runs.
They're most useful when they're not getting used at all to delay clashes.

This one I thoroughly disagree with. While I would never pick them for their color, I suppose unless a color was extremely useful and relatevely lacking on the team. (Unlikely, most defense skills get the color of your S1.) It is worth considering whether the ID uses block or evade. Defense skills are exceptionally important if you want to avoid using egos every single encounter floor 5 and honestly unless you're one of those people who only believe 8 characters in the entire game are worth playing you have no reason not learn how to use them.

Against enemies with SP Defensive skills also have the valuable use of being able to deny the enemy clash-win SP, letting you strangle them harder.

There's also just not using EGOs. Even on floor 5, most of the enemies won't kill you for losing a clash or two, so as long as everyone didn't roll all S1 for the first two turns you'll most likely swarm the enemies after the first set of clashes regardless.

Right because I'm going to make the choice to intentionally take damage and give the enemy 12+ sanity so they can more easily win future clashes. This is in opposition to just blocking if they don't have a fatal attack on you, or using evade which can often completely avoid the attack. Hell, if I'm willing to take the damage even counter can be a far superior option to just clashing because a lot of them come with defenses built in, and you still do damage without giving them any resources.

Did that change? Pretty sure when I was starting this game and using Sunshower Heathcliff, he had the only wrath-resource skill in my team (on his counter) and it only granted it if he got attacked. Not for using his counter skill without getting hit at all.
