Why are the X people mad about the free Outis and Hong Lu ID's?

I really don't understand why they're mad? It's free. And now they commenting that they're "whitewashing" Outis. I really don't understand these people.

Most people are just sad that its going to take over a month as most people are guessing we need to get to the 28th day for the Outis. Considering she has had no ID all season.
The other is free event IDs can sometimes be weak and are worried their not going to be good.
The whitewash on the other hand, I don't get. its lighting on the picture isn't it? Like if you blast a warm white light on something it gets brighter. Its like saying that Yi Sang got darkened because half his face is not in the light.

Ngl I can understand them. They waited the whole season, to get announcment that "Look you will get Outis content in October". Idk how many banners are gonna come before this, but that means other sinners will get stuff sooner, and Outis is left on waiting mode, without a guarantee to be at least decent, because she is free.

Hell, if it was another Clair or Ish ID no one would care, because they already got a lot, but this is kinda mean.

In case you haven't seen it, there's a "rewards for accumulative logins" event, and the rewards include LoR era Molar Office Outis and Yi Sang as Olga and Rain (RIP Mika), with Olga-Outis as the rewards for a total of 28 days.

They don't really need to do underhanded stuff to keep users logging in, the daily throttle on the all-important thread grind does that already, and users that left the game because of the controversy aren't going to come back that easily.
More likely it's just an attempt to tide users over during a content drought, much like the last login event in the delays before Season 2.

its not really underhanded, we arent losing anything in place of it and people that do already play daily will get rewarded, those that dont like the game prob wont come back for a login event either

Well, apart from reasons stated earlier by other users, some people just automatically assume that "free = weak".
Personally, I don't think that's going to be necessarily the case. Especially considering that if the entire thing is a "ploy" to keep daily player count up, you kinda have to make the IDs actually worth logging in.

As for "whitewashing"...
... yeah, just ignore them.
They don't actually exist outside of their Twitter bubble.
If they did - there'd be comments ITT how you're totally racist for confusing Yi Sang and Hong Lu or whatever.
