Identity stories and references?

I thought that identities are just our sinners if they chose a different path. But seeing Faust LC art mimicing Yuri I wonder. Are there any references to old characters from Library of Ruina or if the story you unlock by uptying matters somehow? Since identities could be any character in any timeline...

I have Blade Lineage Salsu for Yi Sang for example, but only connection to Blade Lineage from LoR is his scars (they do not allow people without scars join), no connection to Bamboo-hatted Kim etc. And from his story in that identity, I have no idea what it is referencing or if it is based on something. Might be hard since translation from Korean can lost its meaning (not saying translation is bad, but this happens, something might make sense only in that language)

Might be a reference to something irl too? But again the only thing I found is Battle of Salsu, so maybe a reference to that battle? But what does "nickname Slayer" and the quote have to do with it? ("Outis" says Yi Sang is nicknamed "Slayer" + mentions a quote Yi Sang in that identity said. Also have no idea who Outis is in this identity story)

Maybe I am overthinking this and story is just unrelated piece of story to anything bothin-game and irl. Or it might be something coming in future chapters. But I hope these identity stories, have some meaning or references, that would make it much more interesting and worth uptying just to get that story or reference imho

And yeah, could be that the identity is just a pawn, just a regular member of the Blade Lineage etc., some of them will be, but at least some or at least 000 ones could have more or be more. Did you find any references in identities? Share! Share! ( •̀ ω •́ )
