Are the welcome extractions limited in time ?

Haven't found any info relevant to the welcome extractions. I'm not interested enough in any identity at the moment, so I'd like to save my lunacy until more are added. Needless to say, I don't want to lose these extractions due to time limit.

They aren't time restricted, but it's not guaranteed welcome extraction pool will update along regular extractions.

It is also possible to get an EGO from the guaranteed 3* thing instead of an identity.
To be honest, I would recommend rerolling ASAP to get something you do want. Nothing sucks more than saving up a ton of resources over time and then not getting anything you like.

I didn't even think of that. Well if they are not time-limited, I'll just wait and find out.

Yeah I did think about the EGO but even these seem kinda useless, with the basic ones doing good enough (and the basic identities seem to be strong enough too).
To be clear, nothing of what is currently available in the game really makes me want to extract, and I haven't touched the gacha at all. All I have are Shi Ishmael from tutorial and Blade lineage Yi Sang as given to all, and haven't used them at all, don't plan on it either. I wouldn't mind extracting just to play around with the identities, but if that's all the drive I have, I might as well just wait for more stuff to come out, no real reason to pull now.
I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose the welcome extraction by not using them for months.

I'm thankful for the answers ! Guess I'll just wait.

Why though? A self-imposed challenge run? Waiting for a power creep trend? Blade Lineage Yi Sang is free and has really high offense growth and coin values, especially his 3rd ability which just wins any clash. Gregor's banner is also 100% worth it. He's super strong. A lot of people even consider him to be the strongest. You may regret not pulling for him later.

It's possible to beat chapter 3 with default identities and EGO, but you will hit a wall eventually when new content is released.

If OP is saving the only way for him to uptie bl yi sang is to farm thread from mirror dungeon and, presumably, events. It's a lot of investment into character he doesn't seem to like, and regular ids at uptie 3 outperform him anyway.

Huh...? Outperform him in what way? There's a massive gap in coin power and he has the highest Offense Level in the game, tied with 2 others. Offense level, if you are not aware, affects both the damage dealt and the coin power in clashes.

Oh, it's not about a challenge or anything. I expect powercreep to happen but it's not a big deal to me, although it would be nice to have Aleph/Waw EGO available when I start extracting, regardless of whether or not they make other EGOs irrelevant.

It's just that none of the identities clicked with me. Nothing had me going "I WANT IT". How strong they are I don't care so long as I can do it with the basic identities, which is going well for now (I'm not that far in chapter 3 so it might change). I was probably expecting too much before release, certainly more than what we currently have, so the difference left me unmotivated to extract. No harm in saving so long as I'm not completely stuck, and if I am, I'll make sure I can't so it with the basic stuff.

And as caengort said, there's the matter of thread. It really is a lot of investment for something I don't particularly like.

I agree, he is a beast when it comes to zero sanity clashes where bad coin flip can greatly affect results for some characters. I don't think any 1 star (or even 3 star tbh) can outperform him in this role. Maybe hong lu but hong lu is broken so he doesn't count.
