I'm trying to boot up Limbus Company and steam keeps giving me the error of "unable to sync". I'm scared to continue because I don't want to lose my save eight hours in

I don't know if/how your problem was solved or not, but I had a similar issue today and this was the only discussion on the topic.
BUT I HAVE AN ANSWER! Limbus only *connects* your game account to your steam account, so there's no problem clicking through if you get a cloud sync error, as nothing should really be *in* the cloud. If that makes sense.

Note, don't spam the login screen. It seems to send multiple login-requests resulting in some of them becoming errors...
