no crouch
I'm lazy and I want to play this seated, but there's no crouch button so I can't pickup weapons and ammo etc

Ammo is being picked up by walking over it. Most of the time during development I was playing seated. You need just need to lower your chair and calibrate the floor height a bit different.

Yeah, messing with height calibration sucks... if I go low enough to pick up the mortar, I become a dwarf.

You can custom add a "crouch" button using OVR Advanced Settings. Under motion settings is a height toggle. I set mine to 0.5. Then add the height toggle binding to something like the Touchpad/DPAD south on your off hand controller.

I'm using the Vive controllers and also had an issue with the game menu popping up when using the off hand DPAD so I put a custom binding out with a fix for that. However, the menu button seems to only work when I keep my thumb on the touchpad. Not a big deal though since you rarely need the game menu.

I'll look into it. My main issue is, that I do not have access to a Vive. I gonna ask around and see what I can do :)

Thanks for all your work on this - this is actually one of the better VR games I have played. I got my controllers used off ebay for cheap.

It's really not that big of a deal though. I published my bindings to the workshop. The strange thing is that the menu action doesn't seem to work unless the touchpadpressed action is also bound.

I took a quick glimpse at the menu button thing. Are you on SteamVR Beta by chance? Just by looking at the code I fail to see why the hand menu would behave this way. Well, that's one thing, the other is I found access to a Vive and will try to reproduce and debug it.

However, I'll must note here that for the next Cactus Cowboy game, I may have to drop Vive Controller support ;_; They are just too different from everything else and I cannot get access to test them easily.

I'm on the latest SteamVR release: May 3, 2023 Version 1.25.8 (1683151457). When I use the default Vive controller bindings the left hand DPAD brings up the game menu. When I move that touchpadpressed action to the menu button it seemed to fix it. Very strange.

Really though SteamVR is great how it has the controller configuration so it's not a big deal. Please don't drop all support for it - a lot of headsets can use these controllers (Vive, Index, Pimax.) No need to spend a lot of time on it either. It works good enough. Thanks again, I'm looking forward to your next game! Please keep porting them to Steam.
