It's not a 74 GB update and you're not downloading 74 GB of data. The patch is less than 2 GB, but it re-patches the game files on your drive, like a verification, and is very quick if it's installed on a fast SSD.
That's just how Steam works now, in the download queue it will show the size of all the files it needs to re-verify (usually majority of the whole game size), but once the actual download starts then the download size is shown with the blue line, and installing over the files is in green.

No you didn't because there is no 74 GB download.
You installed (re-patched) 74 GB, but you only downloaded 2 GB of new data.
If you check your game install size after the patch, you will clearly see it did not increase by 74 GB.

People really need to learn the difference between downloading and patching. Granted, Steam doesn't really do a great job making it clear, but still, this is not new.

first it was 3.4g update but i paused because i wanted to go and play dota with my friend and when i resumed the update became 77g and i was think it might be repatched but no, they actully deleted 77g of game files on my hard drive and i should download it again

Stop posting the same thing everyone else has already posted. Also read what you're downloading. It clearly states how much is being downloaded and then tells you the size of the files being patched. It did NOT download 100 GB. The amount was far less, and it's fast with SSD.
