I feel like MK11 was their peak at storytelling. Now it will only get worse.
That's exactly how I feel, too.
Yeah its re hashing things a bit but if they just did new characters and no classics it wouldnt be MK anymore.
They can continue our timeline and be fine, but that leaves the elephant in the room saying "YEAH BUT -OTHER- TIMELINES". What irritates me though, is how they go and show off MK11 footage in the sotry being presented as "This happened as it is shown" But then bring in Titan Shang and its confirmed that he is the same one, but why doesnt he look like him anymore? Why can we have Epcar Raiden, but not Tokugawa Shang? Or Sindel? I'm fine with the design changes from the idea that these are NOT the same characters, but then the literal characters get brought in and theyre just model swaps.
I mean, exactly! This all was interesting and stuff, like a new fresh look at the same characters, this is what I expected from a reboot! And then suddenly - nope, it's still the same universe, just two different timelines, because both endings from MK11 are actually canon. And then again NOPE, IT'S MULTIVERSE BABY, SO EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE AND NOTHING REALLY MATTERS, EVERYONE IS EXPENDABLE BECAUSE IT'S ARMA-FANSERVICE-GEDDON! And there goes your hope for a decent story, into the ditches of that pyramid, along with all those characters falling there every second in the last chapter.
