To those who think the story is bad...

...you're right. The game is beautiful, the gameplay is excellent, but the story... ignore it because it's unbelievably bad, worse than MK Anihillation. That film is an accidental comedy but at least the narrative makes some sense, unlike the plot-twist and timeline salad in the last chapters of MK12. "Kanya"? "Kitanya"? "Sting Lao"? "Liu Cage"? It's like a kid wrote that.

I admit I enjoyed the story up until the last couple of chapters. The final chapter was some weird Rick and Morty type ♥♥♥♥. It felt very lazy and without real pacing compared to the story arcs that came before it.

The final chapter felt like someone just wanted to play with all their toys where they have a weird fusion series and good guy gone bad and bad guy gone good characters all having an all out war where I don't even know who is on whose side. lol I wouldn't be surprised if half the people you fought climbing the pyramid were actually on your side but nobody could keep track themselves. lol

I think Annihilations story better than Mortal kombat (2021) So I'm guessing i'm going to enjoy this story

could not agree more, Im old as ♥♥♥♥. I've played just about every single game in the series. The nods were meant for old heads. I think the story is not meant to be looked at too critically. I also think NRS needed a break from all the grimdark. I rather enjoyed the humor, stupidity, corniness and how lighthearted it was as a whole. They just make whatever game they want at this point.

I'm old too. I agree that the story is not meant to be taken seriously. But it should always be meant to make sense. Even because they don't explain at any moment why more than one ending in MK11 is canon.

It was bad but I still enjoyed it. The last chapter was a big reference to Armageddon, and it was good to see that type of craziness. Would be nice if they remastered the 3D Era games already.

I wouldn't rule out them dropping Kreate-A-Fighter on us at some point after that ending. If all of it was just a stupid Armageddon in joke, yikes, so I'd like to think there was actually a teaser there.

I have enjoyed all the "modern" MK stories, as stupid as they are. If people don't like the multiverse stuff stop playing a game with fatalities? I dunno man. You can't have it both ways. Kameos are way more lore breaking than anything in that ending was.

A limited kreate-a-fighter where you can match any character with any clothes and power set would be my guess. Like Geras with Liu Kang abilities and Johnny Cage clothes.

Yeah it was an eye rolling experience for sure. I expected them to finally drop the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the Hourglass not to further mess up the timelines. What about rebooting the series? It means nothing because it all ended the same way anyways. They never gonna pass that stupid pyramid lol.

Yeah, I was genuinely enjoying the plot for the most part but it went off a cliff after all the multiverse stuff. I can't stand multiverse content because it is so very played out in media and is just the writers admitting they can't write/ran out of ideas.
