So, firstly you allow players from Russia and Belarus to play online and use all online services in beta...

...and then in release version you lock players from Russia and Belarus from using online services.

If that's not a scam for money, I don't know what is? Like, that speaks a lot about you as a company. I mean, if it wasn't clear to anyone at this point but of course you most of all want money, AND russian money as well. You just wanted to do both things, grab that chunk of money (because russian players, knowing that they actually CAN play online will buy your game) AND save face in front of western governments by "not accepting dirty and bloody russian rubles". Uh-oh, yeah, of course.

It's beyond pathetic at this point.

There's a reason both Russia and Belarus can't play online with WB titles right now, as with most online Western Server games... You know what it is, so why are you complaining because you paid for something your government holds the responsibility for?

They indeed have a reason for removing their games from sale and it's understandable, but no other publisher actually goes that far as restricting online services, only WB is doing that, and it's a bigger can of worms than it might look to you; Imagine if you, as Amercian citizen, would have to go to Russia someday (for a business trip maybe), and despite that you are not Russian and your Steam account isn't Russian too - you still won't be able to play MK1 online because of IP geoblocking!

When you purchased MK1 nobody told you that you will be able to play it only in your own country, so, now you see why geoblocking by IP is a bad practice? Not to mention that Russians are still playing this game, but now they forced to use foreign VPN servers, and by doing so, they actually hurting other gamers experience from other countries, because of higher ping caused by VPN usage (in online match both players would have to play with highest (worst) ping in the lobby)...

Russia is the only country in history that's ever done something questionable or morally repugnant. If only they could have sound, consistent morals like the US or Europe (sarcasm). Banning them from online video games will certainly bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end, yep, we're really showing them what's up. Virtue signalling morons. When it's too hard to make a difference, do something safe and easy (like banning an entire group from a service regardless of their political position), then claim some sort of moral victory. That totally won't turn the average Russian against the west (something their government propaganda really wants, but hey, we do it for free here).
