There was a fight called "Look To La Luna" in the mansion which I thought would trigger a secret fight... I was playing as Liu Kang and I did a "flawless victory with a fatality" (retried till I got a flawless cos that Reptile kept using EX forceballs) and got nothing. If anything that was the one node I felt had some sort of clue to previous MK games.
The only thing was I found apart from the usual route was the hallway and dojo keys to access both the chests in the mansion. Other than that I couldn't think of anything that could possibly lead to a secret fight. But once you leave the mansion you cannot go back though. So if you missed any of the keys, thats it.
From what I have been reading online, only the mesas have secrets and ones that have a clue description attached to the node that require a specific char fatality of your main or kameo.
If every node had a secret fight, we would be spending all the time trying to find those out rather than finish the invasion in the limited time that we have got. I have a feeling Derek in the stream was kinda trolling on that aspect but the clued nodes definitely have secrets linked.
As I said above, the Look To La Luna fight was the only one I felt could potentially trigger a secret fight... I even performed a fatality playing Liu Kang along with a flawless victory (cos thats how u unlocked reptile secret fight in the retro MK1 game) and I got nothing.
