Why make Kameos and not just actual playable characters?
I feel the roster in this game feels just really short and having these "Kameos" instead of just playable characters seems rather odd to me, Wouldn't it be better just playing as Sonya rather than having her as a sidekick? Like she's been in alot of the MK games and was even in the classic movie

Just seems like other cool character kinda got shrugged off to the sidelines for a bit

tbh I'm mad we got some Marvel super heroes or whatever they come from instead of Sonya, Kano and some others oldschool fighters

My bad, I deleted my post was thinking the OP was talking about dlc kameos such as Omni man, homelander and the random guy that i do not know the name. Thats different kameos lol.

Because making a Kameo is WAY easier than making a full character... I don't think you understand just how quick it is to make a Kameo vs a full balanced fighter...
The playable roster is 23 (maybe 24?) characters. with I think 14 Kameos? MK11 and 10 were 25.
The roster isn't noticable smaller. MK in general I believe is bigger launch rosters than most other fighting games - SF6 was 18. Guity Gear was 15. Hell, DBFZ was 24 and it's a 3v3.

Speed of which it takes to make a character was never in question

My point i was making is why would they sideline main characters such as Sonya to just "side kicks" when we could of just had a playable Sonya, I and im sure others would prefer we get an "OG" character back rather than some rando

And in regards to your comment about "the r oster isn't noticable smaller" It wasn't a matter of comparison to other games but rather previous MK games, As such in MK11 we had 37 playable characters and 25 at launch in comparison to mk12s where we have i think 23

so we have 2 less characters at launch and from memory they've said we are getting 30 at max which is still less than 37, So yeah we are getting less characters this game when we could have gotten more "OG" characters, Like sure having new characters to the franchise is cool but i think they should have added just 1-3 just seems a bit excessive to throw out the old and in with the new when we already have fewer characters
